What are you planning to do once you get to heaven?
When we get to heaven, what happens?
What are you planning to do once you get to heaven?
How do you view yourself as a Christian? How will your attitude now affect what happens when we stand before Jesus at the judgment seat?
What should our attitude be as we wait for the return of Jesus?
Is there anything we can do that gets us ready for eternity and helps us to stand before Jesus with joy and not shame?
Those who want to make God’s name great should want to love and serve him
Malachi 1:5,11,14
Priest, one who is committed to and engaged in holy matters. In other words, God has made us to be followers who are passionate about two things. Glorifying God and Making Disciple
Exodus 19:6 ESV
and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel.”
1 Peter 2:5 ESV
you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:9 ESV
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Revelation 1:6 ESV
and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 1:6
In the OT, the tribe of Levi, the Levites were given the task of overseeing the worship of the nation. Moses was a Levite, and when the law was given only his brother Aaron and Aaron’s descendents could serve as priests. Only the priests could minister at the altar of the tabernacle and only the high priest could enter the holy of holies. The other Levites assisted the priests. While every priest was a Levite, not every Levite was a priest. Only the descendants of Aaron.

In 1 Corinthians we read this
1 Corinthians 6:11 ESV
And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
In other words, this verse is talking about what happens when you come to Christ: you become a priest, someone who is set apart. One who is committed to and engaged in holy matters. In other words, God has made us to be followers who are passionate about two things: Glorifying God and Making Disciples
And because you’re a priest this verse just be underlined, memorized, exalted high.
Priest, one who is committed to and engaged in holy matters. In other words, God has made us to be followers who are passionate about two things: Glorifying God and Making Disciples
Hebrews 6:14 ESV
saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.”
Hebrews 4:16 ESV
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
How can I be a good priest for Jesus?

2 Attitudes that God loves from Malachi 2:1-9

Malachi 2:1–9 ESV
1 “And now, O priests, this command is for you. 2 If you will not listen, if you will not take it to heart to give honor to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart. 3 Behold, I will rebuke your offspring, and spread dung on your faces, the dung of your offerings, and you shall be taken away with it. 4 So shall you know that I have sent this command to you, that my covenant with Levi may stand, says the Lord of hosts. 5 My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him. It was a covenant of fear, and he feared me. He stood in awe of my name. 6 True instruction was in his mouth, and no wrong was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity. 7 For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. 8 But you have turned aside from the way. You have caused many to stumble by your instruction. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi, says the Lord of hosts, 9 and so I make you despised and abased before all the people, inasmuch as you do not keep my ways but show partiality in your instruction.”

(2) A desire for visible commitment (2:5-7)

He stood - the Levites actively defended God’s purity and holiness
True instruction - I share God’s truth
He walked with me - I walked in moral purity
People should seek instruction - I mentor others

(3) How can I be a better priest

A priest in the world
A priest in my church
A priest in my family
