Friday night- learned how to fight
Tonight- we learn who we are fighting
Some may have an idea- some are pretty certain-
Think for a moment of your greatest enemy- who does this person look like, what has made them your enemy?
Table Vision- the Lords Supper- Jesus dined with those He loved most-
Jesus all knowing, human and God combined- knew whom he would be dining with
All of the disciples were there- this included Judas
Today- people are fighting to get ahead in business, in career, in life, in popularity, on social media, in the spotlight, a place in a friends life....in ministry, a title, a place where you’re know by how good you are and no longer regarding how great He is.
This is not the design God had in mind.
People are out to get you. Trust no one. They all lie either to you or about you. Don’t trust her. Backbiting, lying.
The sad part of this is that satan no longer has to move amongst us, we have done an excellent job for him.
I am not suggesting you quit school,
We have come to understand
The word of God says that it is the truth that will set you free. Tonight, we talk about truth. I hope you get mad, I hope you get angry. Not at each other, but at the well devised plan of the enemy to turn you against the one thing you were created to do- remain in love.
PERSPECTIVE
tonight, you gain knowledge of the playbook he has been working from
The most damaging lie in the world is the one you believe
and by the way…when God has planted a vision, a dream, a calling into you…it is no ones place to keep that alive. You have others to cheer you on- but there will be times that they done.
You have to believe in the call. You have to believe in the vision. You have to believe in the dream. Its yours, its not theirs.
Before we move into the word- recently noticed where we are picking up this year
The church as talked about Judas for a long time
We have used his name to our gain for many, many years
we slander those that are standing beside us
We have manipulated the gospel to to make us feel better- “thats my Judas”...”even Jesus had one”, etc. We have ripped the gospel apart to help us heal and it has only hurt us
At any moment- Jesus, all knowing, all loving- at any moment, he could have replaced Judas. He could have not had him at the final dinner setting, he could at any minute have called someone else in to take his place
But, He didn’t
He didn’t replace Judas- and He is not going to replace you
You know what it took for Jesus to change His mind about who Judas was- death…and it’ll take that for him to change his mind about you too.
There is nothing so big that you can do to screw up what God has for you
And- there is no one that will fit the mold of what God has in store for you.
Remember Cinderella- remember the glass shoe
Yes- many may wear a size 7…but no one will work when you already hold the match of the one He is looking for
I have come to find this. On your prettiest day- hair and makeup on point, at your ideal weight, in your best clothes…ladies, when you know youre at a 10...there will walk in a dagum 12
But in this place- there is no comparison, there is no race to find your identity, there is no one who can every be what it is that He has marked for you. You may quit and there may be someone come along to take you title, but they’ll never be able to take you passion, your heart, they will never be able to do what God intended for you to do, impact the specific people you are called to impact.
If you want to quit. Then you get to quit.
What a powerful piece of scripture
Another that we have once again completely butchered.
What you imagine this to say and what the heart of God says are TOTALLY different.
No one in this room is your enemy.
You now get to take that name from your mind, you now get to erase that picture you have been thinking of all night.
The Lord said to me when I read this…if you serve the same God, you are on the team. You are not enemies- you are allies. Stop fighting each other.
et me introduce you to your enemies.
greed, pride, compromise, immortality, idolatry, etc.- these are your enemies, this is who you are fighting.
I want what they have
They are better friends
someone is going to steal my place
they’re more anointed…No they are not, they just sacrifice more- you can too.
You can not love an all knowing holy God and hate the ones he loves, that is the opposite of who he is. that is the opposite of what he does.
- the fellowship of believers
This is what God intends for this table
Understand your enemies
satan will use anything- and he has successfully
Judas was not Jesus greatest enemy- pride was. Greed was. and it found its way under His feet.
Jesus defeated pride and greed and idolatry in the wilderness when he came to him by saying...”it is well written”...
You got to know what is written
You have to know what He says, not what they say
Truth says this: I chose you. They did not.
Truth says: I am Holy. I call you you holy because you are mine and anyone whom I have created is of my blood and therefore you are holy.
You are righteous
There will never be anyone like- you are specific to the needs I have for you to carry out on this earth.
Your assignment is the same though the ones you will reach are not.
I am called and chosen is true and it is great but it will not carry you through the fire if that is all you know.
You must know Ephesians 1:4
You must know truth when the enemy says you are less. You must know to say 1 peter 2:9
Even in betrayal, Jesus never discounted Judas
Jesus fully understands what he has gotten himself into with a relationship with you
Lord we ask you to replace the orphan spirit- the spirit of abandonment, alienation, isolation, that attaches itself to your children who have had extreme rejection in their lives...
we ask you today Lord to replace it with the spirit of SONSHIP
-the fact or state of being a son
The Promise of the Father was the promise of sonship – that we might be given power to become children of God. This happened in fullness on the day of Pentecost in the upper room, and it continues today.
The Fathers call is irrevocable- regardless of your answer, regardless of your yes- His answer remains the same
