The church is an utterly unique community. The only community that is exclusively about the gospel. The only community that adds to our identity in Christ. The only community that is chosen, called, set-apart, treasured and purposed by God. There is no other community, group, body or club like it. The church is precious to God like Jesus is precious to God. The church is the spiritual house who have Christ as the cornerstone; the centre – who make him ‘their precious’. The church is the community whom God has called out of darkness into his wonderful light in order to declare his praises to the world. Clearly the church should be as precious to us as it is to God.
