You Belong Here - Part 1
You Belong Here - Part 1
1 Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach.
2 This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people—even eating with them!
Word Of Prayer
Confession of Faith
I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. I believe the WORD of God! The victory is mine! I have it now! I can see it through the eyes of my faith! In Jesus Name!
Introduction: Luke 15 is one of the most important chapters in all the Bible. It includes three of the most famous parables ever told. The parables deal with the lost and the great love of God in seeking and receiving the lost sinner when the sinner repents and returns home.
Today People are in search of truth! There is a Spiritual Hunger in the atmosphere
1 By this time a lot of men and women of doubtful reputation were hanging around Jesus, listening intently.
1 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him.
1 NOW THE tax collectors and [notorious and especially wicked] sinners were all coming near to [Jesus] to listen to Him.
These folks were drawn to Jesus and his message!
1. They were hungry for His message. They were not coming out of curiosity, they were not just nosey, they were not coming to observe, or to seek physical blessings;
They were coming out of a Spiritual Need,
They were coming out of the need to receive His message of salvation.
We are talking about tax-collectors, Those Who worked for the Roman government, which was the nation that had conquered Israel.
So a tax collector was considered a traitors to both Israel and to God.
They were despised by the common people and were cut off and shut out by the the religious folks
Sinners were the immoral and unjust who did not keep the law, such as liars, thieves, murderers.
All these were sinners, they were considered traitors to both God and man, and guess what they knew it.
elaborate here.....
So when Jesus came along preaching deliverance from sin and hope of the Kingdom of God, they flocked to Him.
32 For John the Baptist came and showed you the right way to live, but you didn’t believe him, while tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even when you saw this happening, you refused to believe him and repent of your sins.

The attitude of religious people can be tragic.
The religious or church folks grumbled, they complained, they talked about Jesus and against Jesus because He associated with and ate with folks who knew they were not in right standing with God! Sinners !
That’s why you must know Jesus was not of the world, but He was out in the world trying to reach men women boys and girls for God.
When you are hurting spiritually - it affects everything about you
17 So leave the corruption and compromise; leave it for good,” says God. “Don’t link up with those who will pollute you. I want you all for myself.
18 I’ll be a Father to you; you’ll be sons and daughters to me.” The Word of the Master, God.
17 So, come out from among [unbelievers], and separate (sever) yourselves from them, says the Lord, and touch not [any] unclean thing; then I will receive you kindly and treat you with favor,
18 And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

15 Then he said, “Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God’s good news to one and all.
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
We are called to "go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature [sinner]" .
We don’t sit back and wait on the lost to come to you and the church. You go out where they are
2 This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people—even eating with them!
2 The Pharisees and religion scholars were not pleased, not at all pleased. They growled, “He takes in sinners and eats meals with them, treating them like old friends.”

29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
6 Be gracious in your speech. The goal is to bring out the best in others in a conversation, not put them down, not cut them out.
3 So Jesus told them this story:
4 “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?
We must Go Looking For The Lost
