Welcome Prayer

Almighty God,

As we look out on our world and our country we see so much anger and unrest

This morning we lift up Justice Kavanaugh and his family that you fill him with wisdom and protect him

And his family as he takes his seat Tuesday in our highest court

We call on you Jehovah Shalom, our God of peace, to bring peace upon this nation

to bring peace upon this nation

Let your peace come upon all who are in this sanctuary

And now as we prepare our hearts for worship, let us allow the things of this world to fade into the background

Let us focus not on things temporal, but rather on things eternal

Let what is sung and spoken be pleasing to you

And let the message we receive find immediate application in each of our lives

Thank you Lord for a love we can never fully understand.
