I. Introduction.

Illustration with the rope. Life on earth VS. Eternity.
Eternity is to long to be wrong.
As a teenager it is hard to get our mind out of the today and think about the future. It is easy to soak up all of life we can live. I do not know if it is still popular but there was a popular saying going around one time called: YOLO. YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE. That is the biggest lie you could ever convince your self.
Rich man and lazraus. One dies and goes to heaven the other dies and goes to hell. Both of them realize there is life after this life. There is one both of those guys have in common. BOTH KNOW ETERNITY IS REAL.
Hell is a real place with real people in real time.
Numbers 21:4–9 ESV
4 From Mount Hor they set out by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. And the people became impatient on the way. 5 And the people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.” 6 Then the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. 7 And the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you. Pray to the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on a pole. And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live.
Israelites begin to grumble against the Lord. Because of their sin, the Lord sends judgement on them by the way of serpents and the serpents begin to bite the people and many of the people die.
Lets set the stage. Your in the camp. You and your family in your tent and snakes begins to come in your camp and they are crawling everywhere.
ILLUSTRATION OF JENNA WHEN SHE SAW A SPIDER ONE MORNING AND SHE SCREAMS AND WAKES ME UP.
Snakes are crawling and biting your family the whole camp is screaming in pain from snakes biting them, others are screaming because family members are dead. Mom’s and dad’s are screaming as they hold their little boys and girls lifeless in their arms. Grandparents crying and weeping as they hold their grandchildren lifeless in their arms. Brothers and sisters weeping and crying as they hold their mom and dad in their arms dead and lifeless snakes crawling everywhere biting anyone and everyone they can.
People find Moses, they are weeping and crying skeered to death. Crying out to Moses, They know Moses has interceded on their behalf numerous times in the past. So they cry out Moses, We have sinned. Pray to the Lord to take away the snakes from us. Moses prays and some say the Lord to the snakes away. Notice scriptures does not say the Lord removed the snakes. The bible reads that the Lord told Moses to make a bronze serpent and put it set it on a pole and if a serpent bite anyone he would look at the bronze serpent and live.

II. Message

What can we take we learn from this story.
Sin has bite all of us.
Isaiah 59:2 ESV
2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
The bible reads that we all have been bite by sin and sin has killed all of us. we are dead in our transgressions and sins. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Sin has bite all of us. Judgement for sin is death.
We have died spiritually
Like those who were bite by a snake they died a death of suffering due to sin.
SIN has corrupted everything under heaven. I tell people I expect to suffer in the body before I die. Sin has poisoned me and I am dying. My body is wasting away.
What can we take away from this s
God sent a savior
One thing God cannot do is allow sin into heaven. Because God is perfect and Holy.
Jesus lived a perfect life. That is a life you could not live. His life satisfied the righteous requirement of God.
He died a death you could not die.
Col 2:
Colossians 2:13–15 ESV
13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
He conquered a grave you could not conquer.
Colossians 2:15 ESV
15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
Colossians 2:

III. Conclusion.

Apply this to their life. You must be born again. Justified by the blood of Jesus and the only way you can enter heaven is because God now sees you as if you have never sinned before.
Illustration of Perry. If your saved go sin all you want too, because if you are saved you will not want too!!
Close with the rope. Eternity is to long to be wrong.
If we can trust Jesus with all of this. WE can certainly trust him with this.
