Exodus 32
Standing with you
however I can
Who will stand with you?
Exodus 32:7-8
7 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go down,
because your people, whom you brought
up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. 8
They have been quick to turn away from
what I commanded them and have made
themselves an idol cast in the shape of a
calf. They have bowed down to it and
sacrifced to it and have said, ‘These are
your gods, Israel, who brought you up
out of Egypt.’
Exodus 32:11-14
11 But Moses sought the favor of the Lord his God.
“Lord,” he said, “why should your anger burn against
your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with
great power and a mighty hand? 12 Why should the
Egyptians say, ‘It was with evil intent that he brought
them out, to kill them in the mountains and to wipe
them of the face of the earth’? Turn from your ferce
anger; relent and do not bring disaster on your
people. 13 Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac
and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self: ‘I will
make your descendants as numerous as the stars in
the sky and I will give your descendants all this land I
promised them, and it will be their inheritance
forever.’”
Exodus 32:14
14 Then the Lord relented and did not
bring on his people the disaster he had
threatened.
Exodus 32:19-20
19 When Moses approached the camp and
saw the calf and the dancing, his anger
burned and he threw the tablets out of
his hands, breaking them to pieces at
the foot of the mountain. 20 And he took
the calf the people had made and
burned it in the fre; then he ground it to
powder, scattered it on the water and
made the Israelites drink it.
Exodus 32:30-32
30 The next day Moses said to the people,
“You have committed a great sin. But
now I will go up to the Lord; perhaps I
can make atonement for your sin.”
31 So Moses went back to the Lord and
said, “Oh, what a great sin these people
have committed! They have made
themselves gods of gold. 32 But now,
please forgive their sin—but if not, then
blot me out of the book you have
written.”
They are with me. I am
with them.
32 But now, please forgive their sin—
but if not, then blot me out of the
book you have written.”
Exodus 32:33-34
33 The Lord replied to Moses, “Whoever
has sinned against me I will blot out of
my book. 34 Now go, lead the people to
the place I spoke of, and my angel will
go before you. However, when the time
comes for me to punish, I will punish
them for their sin.”
35 And the Lord struck the people with a
plague because of what they did with
the calf Aaron had made.
Hebrews 7:25
25 Therefore he is able to save completely
those who come to God through him,
because he always lives to intercede for
them.
Romans 8:34
34 Who then is the one who condemns?
No one. Christ Jesus who died—more
than that, who was raised to life—is at
the right hand of God and is also
interceding for us.
I am with them. They are with me.
