Set Apart Unto God

Judges 13:3–5 AV
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
God has promised to bless those who obey
God had to treat him like a mule with a bit
He disobeyed by eating from a carcass of a lion
by being in a vinyard
being at a drinking party at the wedding
being very self centered
being a Nazerite did not mean anything to him

Tests God in Gaza

V 1 why is he there?
he is an enemy of the philistenes
he feels invisible
he sees and purchases the service of a prostitute
the city gates are locked V 3
pulls up the gate posts and carries them 4 - 39 miles
feels even more invincible
now hes been with a prostitute / God is sill with me
I apparently can do no wrong

In Love

Woman in Timnah she pleases me
woman in Gaza a prostitute
V 4 fell in love
V 5 find out the secret
read through 16
the secret revealed V 17
The Spirit left him V 20
Being a Nazerite dint mean anything to him
felt invincible
his hair has been cut not the source of the power
but the symbol of of the source

God is longsuffering

Genesis 15:16 AV
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
2 Peter 3:9 AV
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
the sin of Samson could not continue
He assumed that he could get away with anything he wanted to do
Gods on my side
Gods doing his thing I’m doing my thing alls good

God taking Samson to the Wood Shed

V 20 his strength is gone
whole life turned up side down
V 21 blinded, could never be attracted to a pretty girl ever again
Shacked, never again was he free to go and do what he wanted
grinding, doing menial slave labor task
the life of taking God for granted was over

His Hair grew Back

Plenty of time to think
reflect
talk to God, establish a relationship
His hair started growing back
Second, third..chances
As long as we breathe
Jesus is standing at the door and Knocking
the knob is on our side
But the sin left permanent damadge
Don’t make God take you to the wood shed
