praise  noun/verb

1.      Expression of approval or admiration.

What do you know about praise?

The act of praising implies the closest fellowship with the One who is being praised. Praise, is a mark of the people of God (1 Pet. 2:9-10)

Can be personal, corporate, spontaneous (Luke 18:43)

Praise is commanded: Psalms 148

When should we praise? (Rev 4:8, Beasts in heaven continuously; Acts 16:22-26 Paul & Silas in Jail)

YADAH

YAD - THE OPEN HAND, DIRECTION  

AH - REFERRING TO JEHOVAH  

YADAH - HANDS TO GOD
 

 Ps. 100:4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

This is why we raise our hands in church.

TODAH 

TO EXTEND THE HANDS

TO SPEAK a true THING, to make a confession or profession
 

Example: court of law swearing to speak the truth.

When someone becomes a Christian we say to them, go tell some one.

To declare openly, freely, unreservedly.
 

Ezra 10:11 “Now therefore, make confession to the Lord God of your fathers and do His will; and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the foreign wives.”

Example: Remember when David danced before the Lord? The non-praiser, Michal, saw David leaping and whirling before the Lord and thought he was foolish to the point of despising him in her heart II Sam. 6:14-16, 20-23.

TO SING HALAH
 

 If you express great and extravagant adoration to the point of foolishness in the eyes of the non-praiser or non-Christian, by loudly in song, you are giving Tehillah to the Father.

Example: Ingrid saying turn the music up, freedom, abandonment to worship with singing that may be offensive to a non-believer or worshippers

We praise God because he is worthy.

What happens when we praise? For God inhabits the praises of His children. Psalm 22:3.
