What’s the Matter with Mrs. Craig?
This news item was seen in the Nashville Banner of June 10 , 1956, about a Mrs. Craig of Porter, Oklahoma, 81 years of age, who hasn’t missed Sunday school in 20 years. The editor asked the following questions:
- Doesn’t Mrs. Craig ever have company on Sunday to keep her from church?
- Doesn’t she ever so anywhere on Saturdnv night and get up tired Sunday morning?
- Doesn’t she ever have headaches, cold, nervous spells, tired feelings, poor breakfasts, sudden calls out of the city, business trips, Sunday picnics, or any other trouble?
- Doesn’t she ever sleep too late?
- Doesn’t it ever rain or snow in Porter on Sunday morning?
- Doesn’t she ever get her feelings hurt by someone at church?
- Doesn’t she ever read the Sunday paper?
- Doesn’t she. ever get mad at the preacher or teachers?
- Doesn’t she have any friends at all – friends who invite her to a week-end trip to the seashore or mountains?
- Doesn’t she have a radio or television so that she can listen to “Some mighty good sermons from out of town”?
Will someone please tell me: That’s the matter with Mrs. Craig?
Could it be that she loves Jesus?
