We are born Arminians.... Because we are born Arminianism its easier… natural desire…
He in the original state under the Covenant of Works needed to earn salvation. He had to enter that eternal Sabbath through obedience.
True Pelagian: This was Adam, he in fact did not have saving grace.
Yet failed and plunged man into ruin. Nevertheless, the Covenant of Works still remains. We still have the desire to merit salvation. Yet, we cannot. Salvation is by grace alone but we still want a role to play.

Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
Arminianism is a study of religious philosophy.
Chief apologetic
There are to be sure more syllogism but here is what they all have in common: rationalism.
This rationalism led the Remonstrates to an election of many kinds (Rejection of Errors 2).
God’s general decree.
God’s particular decree (certain number)
God’s decree that some will persevere.
It had many other names “incomplete, revocable, and conditional” election.
Rationalism leads to salvation by man. You must decide for Christ. You must embrace Christ and do so to the end. If you work really hard and make it, God will let you in. This leads God always one step behind you with a check list. Faith is therefore not a gift but the cause of election. Faith becomes faithfulness.
“Ought implies can!”
Article 8: A Single Decision of Election
We begin with God, where God takes care of everything, “God works all things together for our good.” Election is the source of every blessing we have in Christ.
Article 9: Election Not based on Foreseen Faith.
Foreseen faith is another way of saying salvation by works.
Not Protestant
Election takes away works soli deo gloria. Think order of salvation, God must have the first place or else salvation is by man. The order begins with election and makes salvation begin and end with God. Faith is the fruit of election. It is not a condition of election. It’s faith not faithfulness. Faith is a gift of God
This appointment is the gift of election.
Hate Verse
You Cannot change Christ’s words . In Arminianism God does not chose persons.
election of workers
Election of love
Article 10: Election Based on God’s Good Pleasure
God did not chose Jacob’s actions. According to his actions he was a thief.
Name
Yet that election might stand on God’s good pleasure, “Jacob I loved and Esau I hate.” Arminians try to say, “Esau I loved less.”

Eschatological love. The hatred is the hatred of condemnation. He is the reprobate.
Article 11: Election is Unchangeable
Election is based off God’s unchanging character. This is a great comfort for us who are always changing. Here lies the problem. We change. You can lead us with a carrot… We change. We are sinners.
Election is in Christ. Keep your eyes here especially when the inner Arminian begins to doubt, “If only I was more sorry… hated… humble…” I’m not against these truths. We must experience these , but the question here is this, “Is this struggle a condition to election… Or is it the fruit of election, the work of Christ in us. If fruit, then sorrow for sin and love for righteousness comes from outside us. Not ourselves, but God who works in me both to will and do according to his purposes. It all comes from God and that is where we must begin. In doubt in struggle to be a better Christian, don’t turn to your enter Arminian. Turn to Christ. We are elect in Christ. Focused on Christ never ask, “Will I persevere?” Know that God preserves us and has before the foundation of the earth.
