HOW TO GET BACK IN
Illustration: Wabush, a town in a remote portion of Labrador, Canada, was completely isolated for some time.
But recently a road was cut through the wilderness to reach it.
Wabush now has one road leading into it, and thus, only on one road leading out.
If someone would travel the unpaved road for six to eight hours to get into Wabush, there is only way he or she could leave---by turning around.
Each of us, by birth, arrives in a town called Sin.
As in Wabush, there is only one way out--a road built by God himself.
But in order to take that road, one must first turn around.
That complete about face is what the Bible calls repentance, and without it, there's no way out of town.
PETER GOT OUT OF THE SHIP
All of us must exercise faith or old fashion trust in God to get out of the ship of sin.
You must leave all doubters in the ship for the call is personal.
He Saw The Wind Boisterous
Story of the wise and foolish man who built houses on different foundations.
Boisterous - blustery · gusting · gusty · breezy · windy · stormy · wild · squally · rough · choppy · turbulent · tempestuous · howling · roaring · raging · furious · blowy.noisy
This is life and without God the boisterous winds will soon consume you.
Its only a matter of time.
Peter began to sink, let me ask you a question this morning, or you beginning to sink and the voice of God is being ground out by the voices of sin calling you.
How Do I Get Back In
rom.
10:
Peter cried out as he was sinking “Jesus save me”.
Don’t wait to late to call him.
CALLING
In the eleventh century, King Henry III grew tired of court life and the pressures of being a King.
He made application to Prior Richard a community of monks living under religious vows, asking to be accepted as a person whose life is devoted primarily to prayer and spend the rest of his life in the monastery.
"Your Majesty," said Prior Richard, "do you understand that the pledge here is one of obedience?
That will be hard because you have been a king."
"I understand," said Henry.
"The rest of my life I will be obedient to you, as Christ leads you."
"Then I will tell you what to do," said Prior Richard.
"Go back to your throne and serve faithfully in the place where God has put you."
When King Henry died, a statement was written:
"The King learned to rule by being obedient."
When we tire of our roles and responsibilities, it helps to remember God has planted us in a certain place and told us to be a good accountant or teacher or mother or father.
Christ expects us to be faithful where he puts us, and when he returns, we'll rule together with him.
