Hell is described as many things in the Bible, but when you start looking very close there are some things we must come to terms with...
Nothing that is said about hell is good. Have you ever thought about that? Nothing is said to be good.
Outside of all the various passages that speak to the issue of suffering, there is one notable thought.... Hell is the eternal separation from God.
Let me share a passage with you… 2 Th 1:9
9 They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
So here is the supreme nature of God, he is omni-present, In and at every place at every moment, except hell.
Hell will be the one place where the Lord our God has chosen to separate himself from....
Those people will suffer, they will be in a terrible place, but they will suffer away from the presence of the Father of all things...
can you imagine that with you...
And when you think about suffering and punishment, the Bible speaks of many passages where this will happen…
So lets look at all the passages that speak to suffering.

A Place where the soul and body suffers
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.
A Place of eternal punishment
10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

all the nations that forget God.
