Like all of His attributes, God’s omnipotence is con-extensive with His being. There is no area of the universe where He is not exerting His power. From a blade of grass to the stars of the sky, everything and everyone is dependent upon His immeasurable power for its existence.
God Possesses ALL Power
He is “El Shaddai”
El — ALL
Shaddai — ALMIGHTY — ALL MIGHTY — All powerful
A.W. Tozer — Since He has at His command all the power in the universe, the Lord God omnipotent can do anything as easily as anything else. All His acts are done without effort. He expends no energy that must be replenished. His self-sufficiency makes it unnecessary for Him to look outside of Himself for a renewal of strength. All the power required to do all that He wills to do lies in undiminished fullness in His own infinite being.

FIVE FACETS OF THE OMNIPOTENCE OF GOD

Infinite Power
All-powerful — able to do whatever He wants
Unlimited — Think of His power in creation

The universe is infinitely vast — God’s power created it and sustains it
He does effortlessly

“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
Matthew 19:26 NIV
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Absolutely no one is too hard for God to save
This should be extremely encouraging to us - be encouraged to believe for the salvation of your friends and loved ones

No purpose of God can be thwarted or undermined

How encouraging to know that God’s power is irresistible and that He will carry out His will

His power is never diminished
He never grows tired or old…He is forever the same
Isaiah 40:28 NIV
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
Philippians 4:13 NIV
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Thank God for his power — He enables us to exchange our weakness for His strength
Through His Word and the power of His Spirit
Psalm 102:25–27 NIV
In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.

Completely beyond our ability to even come close to imagining
Ephesians 3:20 NIV
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
This incomprehensible power is the reason anyone can be saved
Self-consistent Power
God’s power will only work in perfect coordination and harmony with all His other attributes
Are there things God can’t do? Yes
He cannot act inconsistent with His own character
He cannot die
He cannot lie
Titus 1:2 NIV
in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,
Hebrews 6:18 NIV
God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.

Final Thoughts

We can be greatly encouraged as we consider the implications of God’s omnipotence
No prayer is beyond His ability to answer (according to His will)
Because of the God’s power and strength in us, we can absolutely do anything He calls us to do
