Introduction:
Evangelistic praying is spiritual work and requires spiritually fit individuals. It is necessary to prepare to pray the evangelist. We do so through specific prayer.
Pray with Praise and Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving should be on the heart of every believer.()
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.
()
1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.
Thank God for your own salvation.
()
18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
Thank God for his redemptive work.
()
2 He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
Thank God for allowing you to join him in his redemptive work.

18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
Pray with a cleansed life.
Our prayers will be ineffective if we pray with unconfessed sin in our lives.
()
21 So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.
()
18 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
The Scriptures admonish the believer to confess sin and receive cleansing from God.
()
16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
()
8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
Pray according to the promises of God.
God desires to see all people come to Christ.
()
4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.
God is patient and gives people a chance to repent.
()
9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
God has promised to answer our prayers that are asked “according to his will.”
()
14 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
God has promised us that those things that may seem impossible to us, they are not impossible with Him.
()
23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!” 24 This amazed them. But Jesus said again, “Dear children, it is very hard to enter the Kingdom of God. 25 In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!” 26 The disciples were astounded. “Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked. 27 Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”
()
26 Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
Conclusion:
In Luke chapter 18, Jesus told the story that illustrates the principle of persevering in prayer.
()
1 One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. 2 “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. 3 A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ 4 The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, 5 but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’ ” 6 Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. 7 Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
You and I are never to give up hope that people will give their hearts to Christ. Instead, we are to persevere in prayer.
