Cat’s Sermon Introduction
*For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
(NKJV)*
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(NKJV)
Sermon Title: Put the Word On It!
So often we hear folk in the secular community say things like, “Come here.
I need to have a word with you.”
Or “What up, man?
What’s the word?”
Conversely, we hear folk in the spiritual community say things like, “I need a Word.”
Or “That was a good Word!”
All those references tend to refer to the term “word” as something meaningful and powerful.
I stand to tell you about the Word of God and I agree that the Word is meaningful and powerful.
No matter the situation or circumstance, the is a powerful Word that will address it.
Tell your neighbor, “Put the Word on it!”
This Word I am talking about is logos which in Greek means a thing to be said/spoken.
This has always been a Word planet because our God spoke everything into existence.
The Word has been around since before the beginning of time.
Scripture tells us that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
The Word is Jesus!
You don’t have to take my word for that.
John the Revelator said it best.
() He said, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
We can always put the Word on it because…
Point 1 The Word lives in the present times and meets our needs today.
Point 2 The Word is powerful and defeats all other powers.
Point 3 The Word is so sharp that it cuts away the snare of the enemy in all directions.
Point 4 The Word discerns our most inward parts.
(one point too many)

We can always put the Word on it because…
Point 1 The Word lives in the present times and meets our needs today.
A. Whatever challenges we are faced with today, Jesus, The Living Word has already faced them.
He was tempted in every way just like us, (but He didn’t sin).
No temptation has seized you…
B. Whatever needs we have today, Jesus, The Living Word has already met them/already manifested in the Heavenly realm.
We can come boldly to the throne of grace to get grace in our time of need.
…shall supply all your need…
C. Jesus, The Living Word is right here with us.
Never leave me or forsake me…
Put the Word on it!
Point 2 The Word is powerful and defeats all other powers.
A. Jesus, The Living Word, defeated satan during every temptation.
“It is written…”
B. Jesus, The Living Word, defeated sin and death.
…victory over sin and death through…
Put the Word on it!
Point 3 The Word is so sharp that it cuts away the snare of the enemy in all directions.
A. Jesus, The Living Word, protects us from our enemies and those that contend with us.
When my enemies came upon me to eat up my flesh…
B. Jesus, The Living Word discerns our most inward parts.
(one point too many) Jesus, The Living Word, looks at our hearts and cuts us to the core/convicts us when our motives are not right.
Create in me…
As we revisit the text in light of what was happening at that time… so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing cometh by the Word…
Brothers and sisters, your assurance is in the Word.
Heaven and earth shall pass away before one jot or tittle of the Word fails!
The Word won’t fail, won’t return unto Him void.
So in EVERY avenue of your life, just PUT THE WORD ON IT!
