We will dig into the text here in a moment… A man comes to Jesus on behalf of his sick child KNOWING that Jesus had the ability to heal her.

There is a delay… Jesus seemingly gets distracted and he gets word that its to late.
Hope was gone… It was to late… This is more than difficult circumstances, this was more than the presence of evil… This was more than a debilitating sickness.
This was DEATH...
Death used to have the last word, THAT IS until it is introduced to Jesus.
PHRASE THAT JUMPED OUT - Do not fear, Only Believe
Jesus Returns to the place and was greeted with grief and ridicule.
With 1 Sentence… He plunders the grave and robs death of its victim.
The Story of Lazurus - He was late (if only Jesus would have been there)

The Hope of the Reserection - Death could not hold Him, Death has no dominion.

I think that gives us reason to pause, reflect, and enter into worship.
Dont focus on situations, circumstances, problems, worries.
Focus on Him and the truth that there is never a hopeless situation.

It’s easy to have faith, (experience joy) when things are going well.

What about the other 364 days of the year.
Many make the mistake of buying into the lie that following Jesus will be easy.
Count the cost...

The christian walk is IMPOSSIBLE without Christ & Yet so many people are trying to walk alone.
God is seeking for your depend on Him.
When difficulties arise, where do you turn?

Maybe our prayer life is weak and lacking because we have far to much confidence in our self and a very weak view of what God is able to do.

Joy - anticipation - frustation - worry
The hardest part of truly depending on God is truly trusting His timing.
It’s in the delay that we learn to lean into Him even further.
To let the wait FUEL our faith not deplete it.
I often forget that God is at work, not only working out the details but also working in me.
Developing perserverance, charecter, hope.
Some of the greatest testimony come from a delay.
The Bad News

His greatest fear is now a reality.

Jesus not only heard the word, but saw the coutenance & offered hope.
Jarius was no trouble to Jesus, it was for moments like this that Jesus came.
