2 Timothy 4:6 ESV
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.
3rd offering - a supplementary offering
Numbers 15:1–10 ESV
1 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land you are to inhabit, which I am giving you, 3 and you offer to the Lord from the herd or from the flock a food offering or a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering or at your appointed feasts, to make a pleasing aroma to the Lord, 4 then he who brings his offering shall offer to the Lord a grain offering of a tenth of an ephah of fine flour, mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil; 5 and you shall offer with the burnt offering, or for the sacrifice, a quarter of a hin of wine for the drink offering for each lamb. 6 Or for a ram, you shall offer for a grain offering two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a third of a hin of oil. 7 And for the drink offering you shall offer a third of a hin of wine, a pleasing aroma to the Lord. 8 And when you offer a bull as a burnt offering or sacrifice, to fulfill a vow or for peace offerings to the Lord, 9 then one shall offer with the bull a grain offering of three tenths of an ephah of fine flour, mixed with half a hin of oil. 10 And you shall offer for the drink offering half a hin of wine, as a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the Lord.
Numbers 15:
v3 - food offering/burnt offering
v6 - grain offering
v7 - drink offering
reaching the end of his time - close to his death - the end of his life is near. The very last sacrifice.
Romans 12:1 ESV
1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
True mark of a faithful soldier - fighting til the end - willing to lay down his life.
soldier goes into battle to save others - fighting for a cause
1 Timothy 6:11–12 ESV
11 But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

At the time of a person’s death people generally tend to reflect on their past - regrets, lost opportunities etc.
fought the good fight - against sin. All the persecutions and sufferings - schemes of the devil

Hebrews 12:1–2 ESV
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

remove any weights/encumbrances that would slow us down. It will cause us to tired and prevent us from finishing the race.

remove any weights that would slow us down. It will cause us to tired and prevent us from finishing the race. Remove sins.
run with endurance - method in the way you run.
look at the finish line. If we see the finish line and go in a different direction, we will not get the prize. Looking unto Jesus.
not a matter of pride. He has done all this through the grace of God. He is encouraging Timothy to do the same.
kept - guarding
faith: faithful in all that God has entrusted him.
2 Timothy 4:2 ESV
2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
henceforth - in order for all of verse 8 to happen, the situation from previous verses has to happen.

crown of righteousness - in the Greek Olympics the one who wins the race is given a wreath to wear as a crown.

2 Timothy 4:8 ESV
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
Would the crown of righteousness be given to all Christians in heaven?
Would there be Christians in heaven who have not loved his appearing?
- kingdom of God is righteousness.

Is it possible to be a Christian who does not love his appearing?
Would the crown of righteousness be given to all Christians in heaven?
Would there be Christians in heaven who have not loved his appearing?
It is not based on our works. Jesus has done all to justify us. We do go through seasons of low points in our spiritual walk because we are weak.
