Even when the apostles were around, there were problems and oversights in the church. And instead of ignoring the problem, shifting the blame, getting defensive, etc., they owned it.
There is too much to be done for 1 man or for 1 small group of people to do well. The apostles delegated and empowered others to be useful in the kingdom.
The apostles didn’t wave their authority around and operate as an oligarchy. They entrusted others with the task of choosing those who would care for the neglected widows.
Evangelism was able to be effective once the issue in the church was resolved.
