Recently, after some statements in a sermon such as,”Do you pray or say prayers?”, one of the ladies called to express appreciation and went on to say that her son told her when he first left him, the thought she had instilled into him that “Man is made in the image of God” had helped him to keep on the right way. The son sent a picture home of his company in the service. After looking closely, she could not find him in the picture. On being asked why, he said, “They were taking it during the hour of worship on the first day of the week. I had to choose, and my choice was to be at worship.” I can think of no picture that could mean more to a Christian mother than this one from her son – without him in it! She had taught her son well. She had taught him to put the Lord first – a duty so few have learned. Do young people know they are made in God’s image?
