We have been in a study of

We must meet our obligations toward others, even our enemies, and rejoice, pray, and give thanks
Today we will finish the series by looking at and our relationship toward God and his word

A. What is Meant by Spirit?
Some identify the spirit as the human spirit or the spirit of the new life in the Christian
There seems to be little doubt that the Spirit is the Holy Spirit - particularly when you connect it with the next exhortation “do not despise prophesies”
B. Quench - extinguish or put out the fire

- “the fire is not quenched”
- “quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one”
C. What is the meaning of the text?
