Mark 3a (1:21-28) Even the Demons Obey

Introduction: The Supernatural

There are things in this world we cannot explain

Some people believe in them and some don’t; but the question is, are they real?

Is there are supernatural world we don’t understand?

According to the Bible, there is and Jesus has authority over it: today, even demons obey

Jesus has authority (1:21-22)

Jesus in the synagogue

Sabbath was Saturday ()

Synagogue was a Jewish place of worship

They had a temple

They have a synagogue

Jesus taught

Most teachers would teach what others said

Jesus taught with authority (1:22)

Jesus even has authority over the supernatural

There was a man with a demon (1:23)

Demon possession is real

There are those who are alive who have demons inside of them

Christians do not have to worry about this

The Holy Spirit lives inside the Christian

The demon knows who Jesus is (1:24)

Demons are fallen angels ()

Satan was once an angel but led a rebellion

Some are in chains ()

Some are here

Jesus casts the demon out (1:25-28)

Why did Jesus tell the demon to be quiet?

Demons are evil

Jesus does not want the testimony of a demon

Jesus wants us to confess on our own that He is God

The demons obey, but we don’t

These demons obeyed God

Man does not

Will you obey God?
