V1.Let not your hearts be troubled.
Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms.
If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.[1]
Heaven, is the place where those of us of the Christian faith will reside once we have transition from this earth!
The place where everyday is like Sunday, where there are walls of jasper and streets are made of Gold! Heaven the place where there is no more crying and no more pain and suffering.
Heaven, the place where our savior and king resides I’m just talking about heaven!
This place sounds too good to be true but this is the reward of the believer.
And the only way we gain access is the through our profession of faith and belief in Christ.
For the task of every of believer is to tell those who don’t know Christ, about the goodness of Christ, so that the doubter and disbeliever can come into the knowledge of Christ .
For the Bible tells is in to go into all Of the world making disciples of all mankind!
Which means you and i must share not only the word of God but our personal testimony which is our experience with Christ, that’s what gives the Christian faith More life.
Because God would want no one to perish but he would want everyone to come into repentance.
For our job as believers is to 'Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.
For here we find Jesus’ talking to his disciples about his death, burial and resurrection.
Jesus is telling his disciples that none of you can go with me and go through this experience with me because only I can handle what’s coming down the line.
Jesus also gives his disciples reassurance that their faith in him is not in vain.
Jesus tells his disciples that if you believe in me there are two promises that will come to pass if they can endure.
These same promises were made available for us here in 2018 and tThe first promise that Jesus made is a promise of Preparation!
V.2 In my Father’s house are many rooms.
If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
The premise of the text suggests that there are multiple rooms suggesting that more than just the Jews would gain access to this space.
The Jews in this day believed that they only had access to God the father but this notion would be demolished because of the cross.
For access became available to all that believed in the life, the death, the burial, resurrection, ascension but most of all in the return of Jesus.
If you and I can believe as the scripture has said, then you and I will have a room!
This is not a literal room but this our place to rest eternally but more importantly this is the place where you and God will convene in forever!
The second promise in the text is in verse V3, this promise of transportation and co habitation.
V3 says And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.[2]
Jesus says I’ m coming back to get you and reside with you!
This ought to be your shout cue, because inherent in the words of Christ is provision.
Jesus says that my death becomes the vehicle by which you get to my Father and the vehicle by which you have an eternal home.
Isn’t like God to take upon himself 99.9% of all of the work and leave us with the .1% of the load to handle.
For our task is simple Believe!
If we can manage to just believe then Jesus has already guaranteed us a way and place too stay.
For these are the promises that every believer ought to hang onto.
For I believe that these are these are the promises that Mother Clark held onto and were reassured of as she there in that bed.
I believe mother understood that for her to live was Christ but for her to transition was to gain.
Close:
Because mother had no doubt in her mind that when she left this temporal body that her spirit would find rest in her eternal.
So before left she looked over at mama Jessie and said I’m fine thank you, because she knew where her home was.
And I don’t know if anybody under the sound of my voice who wants to hear the lord say well done thy Good and faithful servant, if that you, all you got to do is believe on him as the scripture as said and Jesus will make everything alright!
Why because I Got a promise!
