Making time for prayer.

Prayer will introduce you to the power of Jesus.
Did you accept the prayer challenge of daily saying the Jesus prayer?
“Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.”
How did this help you?
They celebrated daily time of prayer.
They prayed in the morning, noon day and evening.
Why is prayer life so important?
Psalm 55:17 NLT
17 Morning, noon, and night I cry out in my distress, and the Lord hears my voice.
How often did Daniel Pray? Three times a day.
daniel
Daniel 6:10 NLT
10 But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.

Prayer with the Saints is time well spent.

Prayer is communication with God.
Prayer teaches us to depend on God and love one another better.
Spend time in prayer following this method:
A - Adoration
C - Confession
T - Thanksgiving
S - Supplication

Why pray when God already knows what you need?

Matthew 6:5–8 NLT
5 “When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. 6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. 7 “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8 Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
,
Matthew 6:34 NLT
34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

God knows what you truly need when you come in his presence.

Matthew 6:33 NLT
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
What was the lame person looking for?

Acts
Acts 3:6 NLT
6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”
Acts 3:
How did what the lame man wanted and God’s will compare?
What did Peter and John show him?

How have you seen Jesus Power in your life?

Have you developed a habitual prayer life?
In Jesus name power was shown at the hour of prayer.
Acts 3:6
Acts 3:6–8 NLT
6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” 7 Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. 8 He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.

Faith in Jesus shows us his amazing Power!

Faith in Jesus shows us God’s glory.
Salvation is for those who place their faith in Jesus.
Like the lame man we too were born in an ill condition.
We were born in sin.
We are all guilty and in need of salvation.
Romans 3:23 NLT
23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

Jesus has the power to restore us when we call on the name of the Lord.

Our Response to the Power of Jesus is worship.

Acts 3:9–10 NLT
9 All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. 10 When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded!
Worship the Lord for what he has done in your life.
Take time to list what the Lord has done.
Take time to praise him.
