Often times a "Good" decision doesn't always equate to a "God" decision. We must be able to discern the difference.

4 KEYS TO MAKING GOD DECISIONS
1. Discern What is God ( ESV)
Genesis 3:1–6 ESV
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” 4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
Genesis 3:1–6 ESV

The tree was GOOD, PLEASANT, and DESIRED
Good for Food = Satisfied her physical need
Pleasant/Delight to her eyes = Stimulated her visual need
Desired to make her wise = Stimulated her mind
THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TREE!!! IT WAS VERY GOOD…JUST WASN’T GOD for them!!
“There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”
There’s a way that’s good but it’s just not submitted to God.
Example: We know good people but they just haven’t made a DECISION to submit to God’s will for their life.
2. Take Heed to God’s Warnings ()
2 Samuel 11:2–4 ESV
2 It happened, late one afternoon, when David arose from his couch and was walking on the roof of the king’s house, that he saw from the roof a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful. 3 And David sent and inquired about the woman. And one said, “Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?” 4 So David sent messengers and took her, and she came to him, and he lay with her. (Now she had been purifying herself from her uncleanness.) Then she returned to her house.
Bathsheba was PLEASANT to look at!
God WARNED David she was MARRIED!
David made a DECISION to KNOW her!!!
God ALWAYS gives us a way out! ( ESV)
God ALWAYS gives us a way out! ( ESV)
1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV
13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
3. Don’t Be Lead By Your Emotions ( ESV)
Proverbs 19:2 ESV
2 Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way.
Today’s society is a “Follow Your Heart” culture. Sounds good but not biblical.
AMP - He who trusts confidently in his own heart is a [dull, thickheaded] fool, But he who walks in [skillful and godly] wisdom will be rescued.
Proverbs 28:26 ESV
26 Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.
AMPLIFIED SAYS “THICK HEADED FOOL”
When we are lead by our emotions, we become a “SLAVE” to our feelings!!!!
“Following Your Heart” cultivates an attitude of SELFISHNESS rather than SURRENDER!
When lead by your feelings…it makes it easy to fall into a “pick and choose” thing. You pick what feels good to you but reject the things that don’t.
YOUR FEELINGS CAN CAUSE YOU TO MISS GOD!!!
ESV
Romans 8:29–39 ESV
29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
THE MESSAGE TRANSLATION SAYS “God knew what He was doing from the very beginning!!!”
TELL YOUR NEIGHBOR...God made a decision about you from the very beginning to time!!! GOD HAS A MADE UP MIND AS IT CONCERNS YOU!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!
KJV says… “If God be for us, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?!!!!
4. Position Yourself to Hear from Holy Spirit
ESV - He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
Matthew 11:15 ESV
15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Hear What? Hear Who?
Every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God!
How is that done? Through Holy Spirit!!
TRANSITION: Which brings me to what I want to talk about tonight. In staying in the same vein of Making God Decisions…I pose this question to you....
