Pastoral Prayer —
Reading from # 7 in the hymnal
Our Father in heaven,
Eternal, almighty and most gracious God.
Heaven is Your throne, and earth is Your footstool; holy is Your name.
You are praised by the heavenly hosts, and by the congregation of Your saints on earth.
We are sinful and unworthy, but You have invited us and so with boldness through our Mediator and Lord, we present ourselves to You this morning.
Receive us graciously in Christ.
Help us by Your Holy Spirit.
Let Your word come to us in power, and be received in love of You with attentive, reverent, and obedient hearts and minds.
Make us to savor Your word.
Cause us to be fervent in prayer, joyful in praise, and fearful in worship.
We draw to You this morning through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray.
Amen.
