Framework for the Christian Life
Intro; best advice to the dearest of people
Myrtle, A saint of God, at least a professed believer in Christ had this unusual quirk. Being a very good cook she made very. Often she would be asked to write down and share the recipe for one of her best concoctions. Reportedly she would share the recipe but would leave out an ingredient or a critical instruction. The effect was that anyone’s attempt at her recipe never quite came out the same as hers.
Pearl of the same era also was a very good cook. She made an especially good chicken dish. People often asked her for the recipe. Unlike Myrtle she willingly shared the exact recipe.
Fast forward 30 years to a Bible camp ministry. One of the girls in the congregation grew up and became the kitchen supervisor at the camp. She needed a particularly good dish to serve. She remembered the dish that Pearl served. She couldn’t remember the exact ingredients so she called her mother who read her the recipe. Sure enough the dish turned out as advertised and all who ate it complimented the cook.
