Subject: The Will of God

Theme:   The Perfect Will of God

     I.   The Body as a Living sacrifice.

     II.  The Body as Holy.

III. The Body as Acceptable to God.

IV.  The Body in Reasonable Service.

     V.   The Mind in Proving the Perfect Will of God.

Paul is giving practical application to the gospel.  Instead of bringing sacrifices to the Lord as required in the law of the Old Testament, we are to bring our bodies as sacrifices to the Lord, just as the Lord Jesus offered up His own body for the redemption of man.  The result of this act of worship is knowing the perfect will of God.

                    I CORINTHIANS 13:11-13

"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.  For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope and charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."

Subject: Love

Theme:   The Multi-faceted Aspects of Love

     I.   The Preeminence of Love.

     II.  The Paradigm of Love.

     III. The Progression of Love.

     IV.  The Power of Love.

Paul Illustrates the movement of Love from the partial knowledge of this life to the perfect knowledge in the life to come.  Paul demonstrates this using the maturity of man in speech, disposition and ability. He further reiterates it using the example of this present life as a polished mirror in which we can see only a few things, reflections of the future. But when we see God face to face, we will know persons and things as God knows them.  Three things are eternal, faith, hope and love: the greatest is love.

Christ is the supreme expression of the love of God. Love is the supreme gift from God to all those who believe in Christ.

                              2.

     PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7

There is no need to be anxious or worried, God will take care of all our needs as we pray and give thanks.
