Repentance—turning from sin
Matt. 9:13; 13 For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
Acts 17:30; 30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
Acts 26:20 20 declared ….. that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.
Faith—turning to the Savior
Acts 20:21; repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Substitution—Christ dying on the cross in our stead

Reconciliation—bringing together through a third party two opposing parties
2 Cor. 5:18-20 8 God, has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Propitiation -Christ satisfying the holiness of God on the cross
1 John 4:10 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 2:2; 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
Rom. 3:25; 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith,

Remission—putting away or carrying away our sins—also synonymous with forgiveness
