As we pray we might be confident that we know who we are talking to, but we may not be so convinced about who we are. How do we approach God in prayer? One of Jesus’ disciples asks, “Lord teach us to pray.” In reply Jesus gives them more than mere words to recite aloud. He goes on to tell them two stories which help identify those who pray to God. There is the relentless friend (v.5) and the little child (v.11) both of whom receive amazing answers to their requests. Will you identify with one or both? We are challenged to consider who we are before God when we pray so that our lives are filled with joy and peace.
