Romans 6:15–18 NKJV
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
Your chains arent the problem.
Focus:
Focus:
our new master vs our old one.
Performance is a side-effect.
What it means to be a servant of someone powerful.
Jesus gave us the ability to have a new master. Not no chains. Not no longer a slave. A new master to hold our chains. This wasnt the case for 4,000 years. Satan put chains on us in the garden of eden.
Secret #1: You are always going to have chains. (take off the chains: this is a myth!)
Satan’s a cruel master. He will never stop throwing your chains in your face because you’ll never be rid of them.
God’s the most loving, most grace-filled master its possible to have. He also has literally unlimited resources. What if God holds your fear? What if He holds your shame? What if He holds your unforgiveness?
Jesus didn’t come to break our chains, He came to take our chains!
He didn’t come to set you free from chains, He came to set you free from your old master.
Satan gives us more freedom! He doesn’t care what we do, as long as we don’t wake up and get serious about God.
Secret #2: performance has nothing to do with serving God. Performance is nothing but a side-effect of who your master is.
Satan you’re master? You’ll sin and have all the shame, condemnation and fear that comes with it.
God your master? He gives you the power to obey Him.
A runaway slave doesnt have much. No resources. No reputation. No money. Theyre not a threat. Theyre not powerful ir influential. If a slave with no mast stood before the king of Israel and says you better listen to me... nothing. The slave of the king of Persia stands before the king and says “my masters coming”. Look at pharoah’s attitude toward Moses.
See, Satan’s not gonna be scared if you came to him and say.m, stop it.
When we’re a servant of God, we can deliver messages from our master. We can knock on the devil’s door and say, “satan, ive got a message for you from my master. He told me to tell you you can’t have my family! My master told me to tell you you can’t have my future!”
We think serving God is too hard and in reality, we’re not even serving Him! The devil holds our chains.
What else would we do but what our master tells us? God’s not upset that we’re obeying our master, we have no choice! See God got upset several steps before, when you took your chains from Him, and handed them back to your old master.
See many people speak into your life and they don’t realize it, but their simply delivering messages to you from their master. You can’t hand over your chains to the enemy because one of his servants is speaking to you.
We follow God. When He’s holding our chains, NOTHING can stand against us.
Secret #3: Just because you gave God your chains once, doesn’t mean your old master can’t get them back.
However, He’s not gonna cover our eyes, or plug our ears. If our eyes and ears are open, the enemy can still get to us.
The enemy gets our chains by throwing things in our face. You lied. You messed up sexually. Youre gonna lose your job. Youre gonna lose your church. Youre gonna lose your kids!!!
When He goes after that shame chain, he says you messed up sexually,   You say thats true but as far as the east is from the west, thats how far he’s separated my sins from me! I am the righteousness of Gid in Christ! Im a co-inheriter of Him! I know im weak but in my weaknesses He is made strong!!!
He says you’re gonna lose your house, your church, your job, you say my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches and glory!
Remember what they did to you! How could you ever forgive them! You say, i dont just forgive them, i forgive them seventy times seven. Not because i want to but because of how mich God forgave me! They dont deserve my forgiveness but i sure didnt deserve God’s!!!!
The pride chain: look what you did! Are you kidding? The only reason theres anything good about me at all is cause of who my master is! He’s filled me with His power! I walk in His authority! He’s giving me strength to carry these chains!!!
Secret #4: No one can serve two masters.
If you’re gonna give him you fear chain, your shame chain, you unforgiveness chain, he gets all of ‘em.
You find yourself bound in all areas.
Jesus has already done this! He stormed hell and came out with all the saints that had died! He had their chains in His hands, and no force in heaven or on earth could stop Him!
A runaway slave doesnt have much. No resources. No reputation. No money. Theyre not a threat. Theyre not powerful or influential. If a slave with no master stood before the king of Israel and says you better listen to me... nothing.
The slave of the king of Persia stands before the king and says “my masters coming”. Look at pharoah’s attitude toward Moses.
See, Satan’s not gonna be scared if you came to him and say, “stop it.”
When we’re a servant of God, we can deliver messages from our master. We can knock on the devil’s door and say, “satan, I’ve got a message for you from my master. He told me to tell you you can’t have my family! My master told me to tell you you can’t have my future!”
That’s what I’m doing right now, to you. God wants your chains.
