At the end of the day, something is going to rule your life, and it will either be light or darkness.

2. Even when Jesus sets me free, the enemy isn’t going to give up.
“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came...’” (ESV)
Matthew 12:43–44a ESV
43 “When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order.
Matthew 12:43–44 ESV
43 “When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order.
Matthew 12:43-45
3. If I haven’t invited Jesus to be Lord of my life, the enemy is going invite himself back in.
“And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, ” -45a (ESV)
Matthew 12:43–45 ESV
43 “When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.”
Matthew 12:43-
4. If the enemy gets back in, I’m going to find my life worse than before.
“...and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.” b (ESV)
ClosingApplication Lasting and true change only comes through a relationship with Jesus. At the end of the day, something is going to rule your life, and it will either be light or darkness.
