I like doing new things and going new places, but there are certain things about change that can stress anyone out.
Change can cause people to wonder, why am I here? What do I do now?
and even… What is the whole purpose?

I want us to understand God is not only the God of the Beginning, but he is the God of a New Beginning!

Noah and his family spent over a year on the ark, and when they got out of the boat he built an altar and worshipped.
I’m not sure about you, but I like new things. New experiences, meeting new people, and doing new
I heard about a man that got a new job as a taxi driver. On his
Tonight, we’re going to look into how God designed Noah and his family to move forward after salvation...
Notice a few things about moving forward in the NEW BEGINNING:

1. The True Worship

Genesis 9:1–4 KJV 1900
And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
Genesis 8:20–21 KJV 1900
And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
Genesis 8:20-21
Let’s get this straight:

a) Salvation is by Faith Alone

Noah and his family get off the boat, and Noah built an altar and worshipped God.
When the sacrifice was offered, look what it said God did:
“and the Lord smelled a sweet savour.”
God was pleased with Noah’s worship, and I have a feeling that Noah was having one of those memorable church services… you know what I’m talking about?
His family was probably shouting, and singing, and rejoicing in God delivering them!
But I want to remind you the order of this… Noah was SAVED, then he worshipped!
Please understand that Noah was not saved by nails he hit into the wood on that ark, or by the way he worshipped afterward.
I heard Josh Reavis say this “People confuse our RESPONSE to the experience as the experience.”

b) Salvation is Sure

b) Worship is a Response

“People confuse our RESPONSE to the experience as the experience.”

2. The Teaching Word

Genesis 9:1–7 KJV 1900
And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.
Genesis 9:1-4
God in decided that He would never flood the world ever again.
He also loved the people enough to show them how to live.
So what did God say to Noah?
Be Fruitful and Multiply
You can eat animals
Animals would fear man
Don’t eat animals with blood - basically don’t just start eating a living animal.
Man would be responsible for Capital punishment for murderers.
Here’s what I want you to understand tonight… We are in desperate need of His Word.
Psalm 19:7–14 KJV 1900
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: And in keeping of them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me: Then shall I be upright, And I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, And the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:7-
Woahhh I’m thankful for His Word! And I want to follow it.
the testimony - what God says about Himself
We see in the New Beginning that there is True Worship, and a Teaching Word… but I want you to see something else.
The precepts

3. The Terminated Worry

3. The Terminated Worry

Genesis 9:8–17 KJV 1900
And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.
Genesis 9:
God sets up His covenant with Noah.
Notice a few things:

a) The Meaning of Covenant

Covenant means an agreement and promise.
So God is about to promise Noah something

b) The Message of the Covenant

Genesis 9:11 KJV 1900
And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
There will never be another flood to destroy mankind.
Why is this so important?
Now, if I’m Noah and his family, I feel like they were 1) extremely grateful for God delivering them BUT 2) don’t you think they might have been a little nervous too. Why nervous?
They just saw God use rain to destroy the earth. What happened if they acted out of line?
Fear is crippling, and if Noah and his family walked in fear they would not be able to experience the value of being saved.

The covenant that God gave Noah allowed Noah to have faith, and eliminate fear.

c) The Memorial in the Cloud

God decided to not only promise them, but to give Noah a sign at how this would all be true.
Genesis 9:12–15 KJV 1900
And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
God memorialized this promise by putting a rainbow in the cloud.
when we see the Rainbow, we shouldn’t think skittles, or anything else… its a sign of God’s provision!
And of what’s to come!
Closing...
Have you had a new beginning?
If your answer is yes, we’re going to have a chance right now to WORSHIP Him for what He has done!
If not, how about come over to me or a leader and let’s get this nailed down!
Have you been searching for an emotional experience?
If you’ve had a new beginning, why not pursue what God is calling you to do?
