Isaiah 59:19 LEB
So they shall fear the name of Yahweh from the west, and his glory from the sunrise, for he will come like a narrow stream; the wind of Yahweh drives it on.
Isaiah 59:19 NKJV
So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

19 xSo shall they fear

The name of the LORD from the west,

And His glory from the rising of the sun;

When the enemy comes in ylike a flood,

The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.

Isaiah 59:19
Isaiah 59:19 LEB

On the night of July 9, 1958, an earthquake along the Fairweather Fault in the Alaska Panhandle loosened about 40 million cubic yards of rock high above the northeastern shore of Lituya Bay. This mass of rock plunged from an altitude of approximately 3000 feet (914 meters) down into the waters of Gilbert Inlet . The impact generated a local tsunami/tidal wave that crashed against the southwest shoreline of Gilbert Inlet. The wave hit with such power that it swept completely over the spur of land that separates Gilbert Inlet from the main body of Lituya Bay. The wave then continued down the entire length of Lituya Bay, over La Chaussee Spit and into the Gulf of Alaska. The force of the wave removed all trees and vegetation from elevations as high as 1720 feet (524 meters) above sea level. Millions of trees were uprooted and swept away by the wave. This is the highest wave that has ever been known.

When life issues comes in like a flood, I believe that these several requirements or (Standards) that we must have in order to withstands its devastating effects!

Sin strains Israel’s relationship with God to the point of total separation. Israel’s actions required the separation—it was not what God wanted.

Paul describes separation from God as spiritual death (Eph 2:1–3) and demonstrates that Christ’s atoning sacrifice provides the bridge over the separation created by sin (Eph 2:11–13). In the NT, separation from God was a common theological motif used to describe the consequences of sin. The concept there seems indebted to this passage in Isaiah.

Chanese: Many think that the prophet Isaiah was speaking about the devil in the passage, but he actually wasn’t (context is key)

1st Requirement we Must have in order to withstand its effects: LOVE

How many of you know its easy to love someone you like, but what if its someone you don’t like?
Chanese: 3 yrs 4 months 13 days, is how long Derrick and I had been married when the call came. Derrick and I were having some difficulties in our marriage. There had been infidelity that caused a strain in our relationship. It was challenging trying to learn how to live, learn and love someone you barely knew. But I did or at least I was trying to. I loved Derrick in college and once we were married that love continue to blossom. Even in the hurt moments, I loved him. The call came at about 10:20 pm Feb 12th 2005 … Your husband has been shot 6 times we need to get you to the hospital … from that moment all hurt went out he window and my love poured out all over him. Pregnant with our now 13 year old son, Xavier I have to handle the moments with my husband being shot. The LOVE that runs in my veins for him allowed me to sleep in two chairs every night for five days straight just so Derrick could see me every morning. LOVE gave me the ability to nurse him the way a wife could. The way God needed and designed me to.
Scripture tells us to ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself..’ (); Jesus when confronted by the Pharisees () stated second is likened to the 1st, (Great Commandment) “to love thy neighbor as you love yourself.”
‘Love covers a multitude of sins’ (1 Peters 4:8)
Paul describes separation from God as spiritual death () and demonstrates that Christ’s atoning sacrifice provides the bridge over the separation created by sin (). In the NT, separation from God was a common theological motif used to describe the consequences of sin. The concept there seems indebted to this passage in Isaiah.
“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”
8 Love never fails.

2nd Requirement we Must have in order to withstand its effects: JOY

You mean to tell me that I have to have Joy when I’m faced up against the enemy?
In the NT, separation from God was a common theological motif used to describe the consequences of sin. The concept there seems indebted to this passage in Isaiah.
