What is Grief?

Deep Sorrow
Grief is defined as deep sorrow.
More specifically, grief can be defined as the shattering of one’s own predetermined future.
Grief is not just limited to the response after experiencing loss through death. There are many other situations that cause people to grieve. Grief can also be caused by other little deaths.

What does grief do to a person?

Grief makes one rethink everything.
There are four stages of grief:
Shock and Denial
Intense Concern
Despair and Depression
3. Despair and Depression
Recovery

Thoughts Concerning Grief

Feelings of grief will come and go.
Do not allow grief (tragedy) to make you throw God away. He can handle your questions, though there is a difference between lamenting and grumbling.

Theology of Grief

Do not look at the what, but look to the Who.
