Addressing someone that has hurt you
What does the Bible say on this Matter
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Are there clear passages that can give guidance?
Example - Job requires you to be out of town miss church ; going into debt for a large purchase; what church to attend; what you listen to or watch etc...
2. Have Your prayed for guidance ?
26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: But whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Paul wanted to go into Asia but was through circumstances and prayer led to Macedonia to Lyidda that seller of purple.
3. Do I have all the facts?
13 He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, It is folly and shame unto him.
prov 18
1. Ask a lot of questions.
2. Don’t fall prey to “wishful thinking” or let your emotions get the best of you.
3. Remember that there are two sides to every story.
4. Is The Pressure of Time Forcing Me to Make a Premature Decision?
4. Is The Pressure of Time Forcing Me to Make a Premature Decision?
2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; And he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; But of every one that is hasty only to want.
Also it is not good for a person to be without knowledge, and he who makes haste with his feet errs.
The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.
Questions to Ask
1. Beware of the “once in a lifetime” deal and the lure of instant gratification.
2. Don’t let the fear of missing out drive your decision.
3. When in doubt, leave it out.
5. Calculate the cost.
25 It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, And after vows to make inquiry.
What is the cost ?Time , Money , talents, resources
Every decision has a price tag; it will cost you time, money, energy, reputation, talents, and resources.
When people pressure you to make a decision, it’s okay to say, “I’ll get back to you.” It’s more important to make a wise decision than a quick decision.
