If You’ve Been with us for the past few weeks I’ve really been harping on Marriage
I have really started something in the local church.
Jesus and Paul were Single
Dr.R.A. Vernon's 10 Rules of Dating
Single and Satisfied : These are people who for whatever reason, are content being single.
They honestly and sincerely don’t want to be with anyone right now. In some cases, these are individuals that have been through a lot with the opposite sex and just feel like they can do bad all all by themselves. Some have been divorced and others have been in one or more rough relationships that damages them emotionally, financially and sometimes even physically in such a way
Some are Single and Soiled
Satisfied for a Season : If your busy doing ministry, making money pursing education and just feel right now God has you working on you.
Single and Seeking = You want to give and receive love from someone, hopefully of the opposite sex. Seeking does not mean desperate.
Single and Sinning : Most singles are Sexually active in some form. The reality is that very few singles are celibate.
Corinth was a cesspool of immorality, one of the most immoral cities in the world of its day. All forms of sexual deviations ran rampant and were openly displayed. Loose living was the practice of spouse and neighbor, friend and stranger.

The Gift of Singleness

1 Corinthians 7:7 The Message

So How do you Know if You have the Gift
If you are called to being Single
Satisfied Defined- Content without the company of the opposite sex, and not overwhelmed with lust or any kind of sexual deviance

The Single life is ...

Good when you consider the present crisis in the world.

1 Corinthians 7:25 NLT

According to the U.S. Census, the proportion of married adults dropped from 57 percent in 2000 to 52 percent in 2009.
For the first time ever, single adult women outnumber married adult women in the U.S.
Rebecca Traister says the declining marriage rates among adult women are less about the institution of marriage and more about the choices available to women today. "The choice not to marry isn't necessarily a conscious rejection of marriage," Traister tells Fresh Air's Terry Gross. "It is [about] the ability to live singly if an appealing marriage option doesn't come along." In her new book, All the Single Ladies, Traister draws on historical research, interviews with about 100 women and her own experience to examine how delaying or abstaining from marriage affects women's lives. She notes that the shift allows women to build up "our economic and professional bases," which can result in greater autonomy and a more equitable distribution of domestic work in marriage.
Now don’t get it twisted I’m an apologist for marriage
1 Corinthians 7:38 NLT
38 So the person who marries his fiancée does well, and the person who doesn’t marry does even better.

Matthew 19:12 NLT
12 Some are born as eunuchs, some have been made eunuchs by others, and some choose not to marry for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.”
