Story of Hawaii

The angels who sang at His birth alluded to the statement, thou hast increased their joy; as one of them said, “Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy” ().
When reading Scripture there is two ways to read it
one it is where you stand with Jesus/the Phorphets and you have your hand around their shoulder and your like "yeah go get them"
the second is where you are the people that Jesus/The Phropets are talking to!!
Also it is not that the Prophet just says this stuff and then the people get in trouble and the Prophet escapes…but the Prophet is part of the people….
The New Revised Standard Version The Righteous Reign of the Coming King

2 The people who walked in darkness

have seen a great light;

those who lived in a land of deep darkness—

on them light has shined.

The New Revised Standard Version The Righteous Reign of the Coming King

9 But there will be no gloom for those who were in anguish. In the former time he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the latter time he will make glorious the way of the sea, the land beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

2 The people who walked in darkness

have seen a great light;

those who lived in a land of deep darkness—

on them light has shined.

The New Revised Standard Version Jesus Begins His Ministry in Galilee

12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew to Galilee. 13 He left Nazareth and made his home in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 so that what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:

15 “Land of Zebulun, land of Naphtali,

on the road by the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—

16 the people who sat in darkness

have seen a great light,

and for those who sat in the region and shadow of death

light has dawned.”

17 From that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

The New Revised Standard Version The Righteous Reign of the Coming King

3 You have multiplied the nation,

you have increased its joy;

they rejoice before you

as with joy at the harvest,

as people exult when dividing plunder.

4 For the yoke of their burden,

and the bar across their shoulders,

the rod of their oppressor,

you have broken as on the day of Midian.

5 For all the boots of the tramping warriors

and all the garments rolled in blood

shall be burned as fuel for the fire.

9:3–5. You probably refers to God the Father, who will lead the people from spiritual darkness into light (v. 2) by sending the Child (v. 6), the Messiah. The light will increase their joy like the joy at harvesttime or the joy of winning a battle and dividing the plunder. “Joy” is another emphasis of Isaiah’s, mentioned more than two dozen times in the book. This will be a supernatural work of God much like the nation’s deliverance when Gideon defeated Midian (Jud. 7:1–24; Isa. 10:26). It will be like taking a burden off one’s back (9:4). At that time, after the Child-Messiah will come, the implements of warfare will be destroyed (v. 5) because in His reign of universal peace implements of war will not be needed (cf. 2:4).

The New Revised Standard Version The Righteous Reign of the Coming King

For a child has been born for us,

a son given to us;

authority rests upon his shoulders;

and he is named

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Wonderful is never used of man or man’s works, but only of God and God’s works, or of heavenly beings.
In the Lord Himself is described as a “Counsellor,” and in the king is equated with a “counsellor.” Here we have God and King combined in one person—the Messiah.
Mighty God
Everlasting Father is the father that never fails to provide help and supply needs. God will never desert God’s responsibilities.
Prince of Peace does not merely bring an end to war, but can bring true spiritual peace into the individual hearts of men. Peace with God is more important than peace with man, and is the necessary condition for the latter. Since “peace” in the Old Testament is a broad term which includes such things as health and prosperity, this term signifies that God is the one who provides all that we need
