King James Version Psalm 121
A Song of degrees.
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
From whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD,
Which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel
Shall neither gslumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper:
The LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil:
He shall mpreserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
From this time forth, and even for evermore.

tragedy is always difficult to deal with; regardless of how we see it, when we see it, or where we see it, it will always leave us in a place of needing recovery of some sort after we have encountered tragedy. I wonder why tragedy is so comfortable, common around humanity? Who does he think he gets to show up at our houses, on our jobs, even in our schools without warning. It would be great if tragedy would be polite enough to send a letter or a note informing us of his plans to visit. But for some reason, he doesn’t feel he needs to do that. I must say this; I really believe that tragedy doesn’t send a letter, a inbox, or a tweet because he knows that we wouldn’t be ready anyway. We can know that death is eminent, we can know that its coming for a certainty but no matter how long in advance, when it arrives, although we had knowledge of its coming, we are never really prepared. So he just shows up unexpected; to shake some things up and then he is gone on about his business.
Some of the things that tragedy tries to shake is your Faith, your finances, your focus, your fidelity, and I can’t leave out your family. After tragedy strikes the first thing that we as humans do is look to God; But that could be dangerous , according to your perception.
David suggest to us that when trouble comes that we should look up. Although this may sometimes seem like an impossible thing to do; David made a conscious decision to look up. He said “I will.” If David has to look up this must suggest to us that where he is looking is not where he is at. If he has to lift up his eyes to the hills then, we have to assume that he is in a valley. David looks to the hills because he understands that there is help. He begins to find hope in the idea that there is a place higher than the valley.
When you are going through storms of life you have to exercise your will to look up, but I have discovered that it is impossible to look up if you won’t allow yourself to think up.
David finds encouragement from the hill! because David understands a simple thought; if God is able to keep the hills from falling, he can keep me from falling. Vs 3 says that he will not suffer thy foot to be moved. If God allowed the foot of the hill to be moved then the entire pile of earth would come crashing down to a flat earth. David notices that if the hill can still stand. there must be help somewhere. That should be encouragement alone to just look up because he wont let you fall.
Tell somebody that Im Looking up because I’m coming up!
