Most Important Thing in the World

Most Christian don’t like to take time to worship God anymore. They want the service to be quick. If the service is going a little longer, they began to look at their watch and with their faces sending signals to the pastor who is preaching on the pulpit. A worship leader says to the church, “We’re going to sing hymn 325, the title, Let’s take time to be Holy; we’re going to sing number 1 and number 4.” Here is a church who is about to sing a song about holiness and cannot even take the time to sing a song that is less than 4 minutes. In our church, people come to see what others have on, when we say close your eyes to sing, they bow their head for a little bit and then they began to look around to look at other people. Their mouth is moving and their heart is not in it. If we cannot use our time to sing to our God than, we are not likely to devote ourselves to perfect holiness in the fear of God ()

People today are so much in a hurry to get into church and then leave. They look at their watch and they don’t like to participate in church services. Yes the come to church but don’t ask them to sing, pray or

Many people today just want to have fun and enjoy themselves, gratifying the desires of their flesh. They do not seek to be holy. They want God to do things for them. They come to him asking him to bless them here and there and yet they do not wnat him to have control over them. Their heart belongs to someone else. The bible is very clear about the way God wants us to be. 8 times in the bible God says, “Be holy for I am holy.” If God can repeat himself like that, than He really means what he says.

A preacher by the name of Johnathan Edwards says, “He that sees the true beauty of holiness or true moral goods, sees the most imprtant thing in the world.”

Do you think about being holy? Has it ever crossed your ming that you can be like Jesus? Hve you ever thought of holiness as being the most important thing in the world?

When it come to God, holiness is not just something you have, it is a necessity. You cannot live without it. You should strive to have it. For the christian anything less is unacceptable. Listen to the word of God, listen to what it says, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” ()

That doesn’t mean God is after you to make you unhappy. On the contrary, God wnats us to be very happy. Jesus says in “Blessed are thy which hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be fill.” If their is one thing every Christians should go after in this life with all their might, it has to be holiness.

Today we will be in Leviticus. Leviticus is a book that teaches us to appreciate holiness and live it out in our daily live. This book uses the word holy 91 times and words that have to do with being clean 71 times. When it comes to words with references to uncleaness 128 times. There should be no question in the mind of the Christian as to why God put this book in the bible.

Who and why was the book Leviticus written

The book was written for the prist and the Levites in Israel. God gave them instructions in it as to how they should come to him in worship and they way they should be. God said in “Be Holy for I am holy.” The priests and the people God said that to are not alive today, but God wants his church to be holy just like he is. In Peter tells us but as he who calls you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is writen, be holy for I am holy.

A holy God

What is holiness? Nowadays, churches put so much emphasis on the love of God instead on his holiness. They preach that God is going to bless you. God....

Love is central in God, but holiness is central in love. God loves us with a holy love. The bible says that God is light (: but at he same time God is love (, ). It would be monstrous to God’s law if he loved us without being holy. Also, it would be monstrous to us if he was holy and not loving at the same time. There would be no hope for us. Therefore in God there is a balance of holiness and love. You can’t just preach God is good all the time and forget all about the holiness of God that demands us to be right before him...

When we say that God is holy, we are not just saying that their is no filth in God or negative things. Based on what Moses said in ,
