Luke 17:11–19 KJV 1900
And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Post your Praise

It is easy to request for God to do miraculous things in our lives. It is harder to
remember to thank Him when He works. When God does things in our lives, we
should let everyone know. God inhabits our praise and our praise can give others
hope.
This disease “begins with specks on the eyelids and on the palms, gradually spreading over the body, bleaching the hair white wherever they appear, crusting the affected parts with white scales, and causing terrible sores and swellings. From the skin the disease eats inward to the bones, rotting the whole body piecemeal.” “In Christ’s day no leper could live in a walled town, though he might in an open village. But wherever he was he was required to have his outer garment rent as a sign of deep grief, to go bareheaded, and to cover his beard with his mantle, as if in lamentation at his own virtual death. He had further to warn passers-by to keep away from him, by calling out, ‘Unclean! unclean!’ nor could he speak to any one, or receive or return a salutation, since in the East this involves an embrace.” That the disease was not contagious is evident from the regulations regarding it (, , ; ). Leprosy was “the outward and visible sign of the innermost spiritual corruption; a meet emblem in its small beginnings, its gradual spread, its internal disfigurement, its dissolution little by little of the whole body, of that which corrupts, degrades, and defiles man’s inner nature, and renders him unmeet to enter the presence of a pure and holy God” (Maclear’s Handbook O.T). Our Lord cured lepers (, ; ). This divine power so manifested illustrates his gracious dealings with men in curing the leprosy of the soul, the fatal taint of sin.
ON HIS WAY TO JERUSALEM, Jesus traveled along the border of Samaria and Galilee. When He entered a village, ten lepers met Him, standing at a distance. They cried out, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
When He saw them He said, “Go on your way and show yourselves to the priests.”
As they were leaving, they were healed. Seeing that he was well, one of them turned back and loudly praised God. He fell at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him. The man was a Samaritan.
“Were not ten men healed?” Jesus asked. “Where are the other nine? Could none of them return to give God glory except this foreigner?” So He said to the man, “Get up and go on your way. Your faith has healed you.”
As of the second quarter of 2018, Facebook had more than 2.2 billion global monthly active users, including over close to 1.74 billion mobile monthly active users.
Instagram: This statistic gives information on the number of monthly active Instagram users as of June 2018. As of that month, the mainly mobile photo sharing network had reached 1 billion monthly active users, up from 800 million in September 2ß17.
If you can’t imagine your life without social media, that’s a sign that you’ve fallen a victim to the evil power of social networking. It also means that you’ve experienced one (or more) of the negative effects of social media on society.
Depression and Anxiety
Do you spend more than two hours per day on social media? Spending too long on social networking sites could be adversely affecting your mood. In fact, you’re more likely to report poor mental health, including symptoms of anxiety and depression. So how to use social media without causing yourself psychological distress? If you turn to the same research (and common sense), the recommended amount of time you should spend on social networks is half an hour per day. So, as with so many things in life, it’s all about moderation.
Cyberbullying
Before social media, bullying was something only done face-to-face. However, now, someone can be bullied online anonymously. Today everyone knows what cyberbullying is, and most of us have seen what it can do to a person. And since screens hide our faces, you can even be bully without realizing it. While social media made making friends easier, it also made it easier for predators to find victims. The anonymity that social networks provide can be used by the perpetrators to gain people’s trust and then terrorize them in front of their peers. These online attacks often leave deep mental scars and even drive people to suicide in some cases. You’ll be surprised to find out that cyberbullying isn’t just affecting kids, but also full grown adults.
FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)
Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) is a phenomenon that was born at the same time as Facebook—and it’s one of the most common negative effects of social media. FOMO is basically a form of anxiety that you get when you’re scared of missing out on a positive experience or emotions that someone else is getting. This fear is constantly fueled by your social media engagement. The more you use social networks, the more likely you are to see that someone is having more fun that you are right now. And that’s exactly what causes FOMO.
Unrealistic Expectations
This one probably comes as no surprise, but social media helps you to form unrealistic expectations of life and friendships. The networks that do it most are Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. Those are the social media platforms that severely lack online authenticity. One simple way out of this is for everyone to quit lying on social media. But in the era of Instagram celebrities and YouTubers who earn millions, that isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
We see so much negativity and harmful things posted on social media. Like the lepers Jesus healed, very few post are uplifting and praiseworthy. Praise is Honor, commendation, and worship. To Whom Praise Is Offered, By Whom Praise Is Offered, When God Is to Be Praised, Where Praise Is to Be Offered, How God Is to Be Praised, Why God Is to Be Praised?
Doth not all nature around me praise God? If I were silent, I should be an exception to the universe. Doth not the thunder praise Him as it rolls like drums in the march of the God of armies? Do not the mountains praise Him when the woods upon their summits wave in adoration? Doth not the lightning write His name in letters of fire? Hath not the whole earth a voice? And shall I, can I, silent be?
Charles Spurgeon
I don’t care where it is, what part of the world it’s in, if we have a praise church we’ll have successful christianity.
Dwight L. Moody
We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction.
Harry Ironside
Post Dated Praise: to date (a check, invoice, letter, document) with a date later than the actual date.
Psalm 113:1–3 KJV 1900
Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same The Lord’s name is to be praised.
Psalm 27:14 KJV 1900
Wait on the Lord: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: Wait, I say, on the Lord.
We know God created the entire universe in only 6 days. (See ) So why does He make us wait sometimes years before He answers our prayers? You see, it all goes back to God’s sovereignty. It’s not a matter of if God can answer a prayer. It’s a no-brainer that God can do anything He wills to do. () It’s a matter of if it’s His will and His timing to answer a prayer. In His perfect timing, God will answer your prayers and give you the desires of your heart. But God has reasons for the doors He opens and closes when He opens and closes them. () Reasons we may never fully understand until we get to heaven. We have to remember He is creator God and in full and complete control of our lives. So when He has you wait, you need to trust that He has a good reason for it. If you rush the waiting process, you will actually miss out on what God wants to do in and through you during that time.
