LAST WEEK
LAST WEEK
We looked at the first 6 trumpets in
We saw the Exodus like plagues spread throughout the entire world
One of the most shocking truths that we read last week is this:
20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.
Rev 9:20-
THIS WEEK
THIS WEEK
We are going to see another Interlude between the 6th and 7th Trumpet.
Just like we saw between the 6th & 7th Seal.
THIS INTERLUDE IS TWO FOLD
CHAPTER 10 WHICH INCLUDES
THE 7 THUNDERS AND THE SMALL SCROLL
CHAPTER 11 WHICH INCLUDES
THE TWO WITNESSES
TURN TO
TURN TO
1 I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. 2 He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 3 and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. 4 Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.”
5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven 6 and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, 7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.
8 Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.”
9 So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.”
And he said to me, “Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.”
10 Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter. 11 And he said to me, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.”
1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. 2 But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. 3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. 5 And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. 6 These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.
7 When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9 Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. 10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
11 Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. 12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. 13 In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.
15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” 16 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:
“We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty,
The One who is and who was and who is to come,
Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.
18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come,
And the time of the dead, that they should be judged,
And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints,
And those who fear Your name, small and great,
And should destroy those who destroy the earth.”
19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.

Rev 10:1-
1 I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. 2 He had a little book open in his hand. SO HERE WE ARE BETWEEN THE 6TH & 7TH TRUMPET
John sees another Mighty Angel coming from Heaven
This Angel was clothed or surrounded by a cloud
CHAPTER 10 WHICH INCLUDES
He had a Rainbow on his head
THE 7 THUNDERS AND THE SMALL SCROLL
Which according to
CHAPTER 11 WHICH INCLUDES
Represented the promise that God would never again destroy the world via a flood.
THE TWO WITNESSES
His face shown like the sun
His feet were like pillars of fire.
In his hand he had a little book that was open
He had one foot on the sea and one foot on the land
Then, He cried out with a loud voice, as when a lion roars.
When he had cried out
7 Thunders Uttered their voices.
It seems as though these are literal voices
With language that John could understand
When this happened
John was about to write
But a Voice from Heaven spoke out to John and asked him to do something specific
He said
Seal up the things which the 7 Thunders uttered
But do not write them.
Does that seem a little confusing?
The Angel is telling John to keep thew utterances of the 7 Thunders a Mystery
Literally, Keep them a Secret
Do not write them.
Rev 10:
5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven 6 and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, 7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.
THEN THE ANGEL DID SOMETHING INTERESTING
HE RAISED HIS RIGHT HAND AND SWORE BY HIM WHO LIVES FOREVER AND EVER
THE ONE WHO CREATED HEAVEN AND THE THINGS THAT ARE IN IT
THE ONE WHO CREATED THE EARTH AND THE THINGS THAT ARE IN IT
THE ONE WHO CREATED THE SEA AND THE THINGS THAT ARE IN IT
WHAT DID HE PROCLAIM?
That there should be delay no more
What delay are we talking about?
Maybe the cry of the martyrs in ?
It was time for the 7th Angel to sound his trumpet
That the Faith of those who had trusted the scriptures would come to life
That God would prove himself true
That the world would understand the truth about God and His Word
And the fact that His Word does not return void.
THEN THE VOICE HE HAD HEARD FROM HEAVEN SPOKE TO HIM AGAIN
GO TAKE THE LITTLE BOOK THAT IS OPEN AND IN THE HAND OF THE ANGEL
YES, THE ONE WITH ONE FOOT ON LAND AND ONE FOOT ON THE SEA
How scary would that be?
CASUALLY, JOHN GOES UP THE ANGEL AND SAYS:
“GIVE ME THE LITTLE BOOK”
Luckily when God tells you to do something
He is working out all of the details behind the scenes
Normally, you would think, If God wants me to have a book, you know . . .
“Oh, God probably wants me to read it”
“Maybe God wants to show me something in the book”
“Maybe there are some cool drawings”
Nope!
The Angel then told John to do something that only one other Biblical Character had done before
Take and Eat it
it will make your stomach bitter
But it will be as sweet as honey to your mouth.
So John took the little book out of the Angels hands and ate it
Just like the Angel said,
it was sweet as honey in his mouth
But bitter to his stomach
Why was this necessary?
It was a sign to John
That he would one day prophesy again to many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.
By this point John would be wondering if his life would ever be normal.
You can’t absorb all of this imagery.
You can’t take in all of this content and remain unchanged
I believe that John was wondering if he would ever get a chance to preach again
It is something that goes on in the mind of a preacher
You go through life
Life gets hard
Life gets interesting
Life gets weird
You don’t know if you will ever get a chance to preach what God is speaking to you
Here the Angel reassures John
But in a different manner
Its not like the Angel is suggesting that John will prophesy again
He is urging John
YOU MUST PROPHESY AGAIN
ABOUT MANY PEOPLES, NATIONS, TONGUES, AND KINGS
THERE WERE A COUPLE OF OTHER PEOPLE THAT WOULD PROPHESY DURING THIS TIME OF TRIBULATION
LETS CHECK OUT THE SECOND INTERLUDE
1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. 2 But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. 3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

And should destroy those who destroy the earth.”
19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.

JOHN WAS THEN GIVEN A MEASURING ROD
HE WAS ASKED TO MEASURE THE TEMPLE OF GOD, THE ALTAR, AND ALL OF THOSE WHO WORSHIP THERE.
THIS WAS LIKE A SPIRITUAL INVENTORY OF WHAT IS GOING ON AT THIS TIME
JOHN IS ALSO ASKED TO LEAVE OUT THE OUTER COURTS
This part of the temple was designated for the Gentiles since day one
It has been given to the Gentiles
They will tread the holy city underfoot for 42 months
One thing to note here
Is that by this time the temple had already been destroyed
This would be pointing to a future temple
A temple yet to be built
A temple whose land is being fought for to this day.
Just this week
Israel had to defend themselves from an arial attack
400 Palestinian Missiles were launched into Israel in one night.
100 of them were intercepted.
For 3.5 years, the Gentiles will tred upon the temple underfoot
Now, if you are a numbers person
You will notice that 1260 Days isn’t exactly 3.5 years
Thats because back in bible times the Babylonian Calendar had 360 days.
So did the Mayans, and Aztecs
It wasn’t until the Egyptians introduced their calendar that we went into a 365.25 day year. But that wasn’t until 238 BC
WHO WERE THESE TWO WITNESSES?
They are pillars of prophecy during this time
Two Olive Trees
Speaking to the Anointing that these two would have
Two Lampstands if you will
Speaking to the Church
If anyone tries to harm them
Fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies.
They have the power to shut up heaven
So that no rain falls during the time of their prophecying
They have power over the the waters to turn them into blood
To strike the earth with all plagues as often as they desire.
BUT THERE IS A TIME AND A SEASON FOR EVERYTHING
ONE DAY THEIR PROPHESYING WILL END
THE WARNING WILL BE CLEAR AND CONCISE
WHEN THEY FINISH
THE BEAST WILL COME OUT OF THE BOTTOMLESS PIT
WILL MAKE WAR AGAINST THEM
OVERCOME THEM
KILL THEM
THEIR DEAD BODIES WILL LIE IN THE STREET OF THE GREAT CITY
Which is spiritually Called Sodom and Egypt
To very Sinful connotations to the actual city of Jerusalem
It points to the transformation of Jerusalem
Into a very idolatrous city
A City trampled by the tribulation and the judgement of unrepentant souls
THE WORLD WILL SEE THEIR BODIES
THE MEDIA COVERAGE WILL BE INSANE
PEOPLE WILL SEE THIS
IT WILL BE A VIRAL EVENT
THEY WILL SEE THEIR BODIES FOR 3.5 DAYS
11 Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. 12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. 13 In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.
