Are You Filled With The Holy Ghost
Under the Influence – Acts 2:1-17
Introduction: Acknowledge Everyone:
Purpose of revival: To bring back to life, to make strong again, and to bring back into use.
Acts was written by a physician, and evangelist known as Luke. Luke was a physician and a many scholars say that traveled with Paul. He wrote two books, the book of Luke and the Book of Acts. Often Acts is referred to as many as the Acts of the Apostles, but really it should be the Acts of the Holy Ghost.
In this book we see Acts of healing, acts of deliverance, acts of ministry, acts of the church, Acts of martyrdom by believers, Acts of salvation. But you first have the Gift of the Holy Spirit being given to the church. The Spirit of God is God in Motion. Gen. 1 whenever he spirit moves we know that something is about to happen. It describes God’s divine power moving in, upon and around us.
I am so glad that our God is an active God. Has he done any Acts in your life?
Jesus had promised the disciples that he was going to send a comforter and a help. He called the Holy Ghost the spirit of truth and said that it would teach them all about the son. John 14-17
Acts 1: 5 John baptized you with water: but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
We have heard others talk about God, but I want to see God move. I want God demonstrated. I want to see God show up and show out. We are getting tired of church as usual.
Now ythe Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is zliberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding aas in a mirror bthe glory of the Lord, care being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as 2by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18.

Feasts and Their Functions Each festival places great emphasis on community participation and on the continuity of social or religious tradition, especially where the celebrations are elements of a regular civil or religious calendar. Such shared memory has a cohesive effect upon a cooperating community, large or small, and serves to establish the traditions by which the group lives. If the festival commemorates a particular event or celebrates some lofty ideal, that theme becomes more firmly embedded in the minds of the participants by being associated repeatedly with the rites and ceremonies performed. The feasts of the ancient Hebrews had this positive function. The great festivals of their religious calendar commemorated specific occasions when God had reached out in power to intervene for his people or had provided for them in their distress. By celebrating these feasts on a regular basis, the Hebrews continually affirmed that their God had directed their destiny. Their repeated rehearsal of God’s help and love for them reminded them that he was still able to sustain them. Especially in times of hardship, it pointed to the reality of God’s presence and activity among them. Faith sustained by this means furnished an invaluable spiritual dimension to the life of the nation and provided a sense of continuity under divine provision and guidance. Only when corrupt or pagan elements were introduced into festive occasions did this important ingredient of national life begin to lose its vitality.

There were three main feast during Biblical times. There Passover, the feasts of Tabernacles and Pentecost.
The Feast of Pentecost meant that they were thanking God for the harvest. Fifty days after Passover and giving God the praise for their increase. The Jews brought to God the firstfruits of their harvest in thanksgiving, expecting that God would give the rest of the harvest as his blessings.
Whenever you get want you need from the Lord you should be willing to give it back to God and celebrate.

Sound from heaven of a Rushing Mighty Wind and it Filled the House:
The House is already filled with 120 folk.
The word Fill means to completely occupy, satisfy, to spread through
God changes the atmosphere. God change the atmosphere of our church. Change the atmosphere in our home. Change the atmosphere on the Job.
Tongues of Fire fell on each one of them that were in the house. Wait a minute.

The early church had none of the things that we think are so essential for success today—buildings, money, political influence, social status—and yet the church won multitudes to Christ and saw many churches established throughout the Roman world. Why? Because the church had the power of the Holy Spirit energizing its ministry. They were a people who “were ignited by the Spirit of God.” [3]
