Isaiah 6:1–13 ESV
In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.” And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” And he said, “Go, and say to this people: “ ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” Then I said, “How long, O Lord?” And he said: “Until cities lie waste without inhabitant, and houses without people, and the land is a desolate waste, and the Lord removes people far away, and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land. And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains when it is felled.” The holy seed is its stump.

The Meaning Of Adonai

The Meaning Of Adonai

The Name Adonai means MASTER , LORD, KING, RULER.
It is used some 300 times in the OLD TESTAMENT refering to God.
Almost ALL of these times it is in the PLURAL. We will look at that in just a moment.
This name, ADONAI, connotes an ATTRIBUTE / CHARACTERISTIC of GOD as the ONE who is IN CONTROL and RULING over ALL THINGS.
Isaiah 6:1-3
Isaiah 6:1–3 ESV

Isaiah 6:-8
Isaiah 6:1–8 ESV
In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Isaiah SAW GOD / ADONAI.
He saw Him WHEN ISRAEL was HURTING. When the STABILITY was SHAKEN. When the king was gone.
Adonai showed Himself to Isaiah to REMIND him about HIM!
Let US be REMINDED today.
When a Family Member has PASSED ON.
When MEMORIES are FADED.
When JOBS are SECURE or WANTED.
When the DR.’s diagnosis is coming or has COME and it is GOOD or TERRIBLE.
When school is GREAT or when it STINKS!
Let us be reminded today that ADONAI is on the THRONE, no matter if the House of Reps. is full of D’s or R’s.
No matter if there are those for or against our thoughts and ideas.
If there are 5 conservatives on the Supreme Court or 9 Liberals.
GOD IS ON THE THRONE!
He, ADONAI (THE LORD / KING / MASTER / RULER) is on His THRONE!!
He is BRINGING this WORLD to HIS END.
He shows Himself to Isaiah.
He SHOWS Himself TO YOU!!!
John 14:5–11 ESV
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

The Mission From Adonai

Isaiah 6:8–13 ESV
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am!
He has a MISSION for His PEOPLE to be on!
-At School
-At Work
-At Home
It is FOR ALL OF US who ARE HIS!
Those who are HIS; who CALL HIM Adonai.
There is no proper way to say “Lord” and put NO behind it.
Lord, I don’t want to go there, say that, do that, No I won’t....,
Once you and I do this we are replacing Him with US!!!!
Do you think you will be ALL alone? Do you think you will be forgotten? Do You think you will not be liked? Do you think they will all call you a LUNATIC?
MAYBE SO, but that still doesn’t give you the right to “DETHRONE” God and place yourself there!
Look at the mission God had for Isaiah--
Who can I send and who will go for us?

Genesis 1:26–27 ESV
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
GOD said, “LET US.”
Genesis 1:1 ESV
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
John 1:1–3 ESV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Job 26:13a ESV
By his wind the heavens were made fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
Job 26:13 ESV
By his wind the heavens were made fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
