Radiant Church, November 25, 2018 Mike Rydman Mark 14:10-11 Mark 14:10-11 Then Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went to the chief priests in order to betray him to them. And when they heard it, they were glad and promised to give him money. And he sought an opportunity to betray him. Post-modern worldview: self-authorizing “I am my own most trusted truth source” “’My views’ are simply self-evident to any ‘rational person’” Initially, Judas could not (would not) see what he was planning to do was wrong Genesis 6:5 the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Isaiah 29:13 And the Lord said: Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men… Jeremiah 12:2 you plant them, and they take root; they grow and produce fruit; you are near in their mouth and far from their heart Is Jesus useful?...or is He beautiful? Ephesians 3:14-19 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith – that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God
