The mystery
This divine wisdom and understanding we receive after being redeemed does not refer to our own wisdom and understanding, but to God’s divine understanding.
Our own intellect and abilities does not afford us an opportunity to see God or know what God is doing.
That wisdom and insight is reserved for those who have been redeemed.
They must be cultivated in order to become effective.
This is why in ; Paul prayed that believers may be filled with all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Although it is made available and given as a gift, it becomes effective as we grow in him.
This is why you are constantly being encouraged to actively participate in discipleship.
Discipleship is not just receiving the information about God, or Jesus Christ but it is drawing closer to Christ and submitting to his will. ; ;
Wisdom; being able to look into the true nature of things.
Understanding; is being able to properly apply the wisdom you have received.
the faculty of discerning the proper action.
the faculty of discerning the proper action.
The proper action doesn’t necessarily mean one that’s in your favor.
The proper action doesn’t necessarily mean one that’s in your favor.
Our redemption helps us to understand the things of God.
As God unfolds his plan it is a gradual process.
He told Abraham through his seed all nations of the world would be blessed. - God didn’t tell Abraham everything he had in his mind to make that happen.
God has disclosed to the church his eternal purpose and plan.
While others are trying to figure out what’s going on, God has revealed to those who are redeemed what’s going on.
Everything is happening for a purpose and moving towards an intended end.
God has revealed to the church, through Christ, the ultimate goal of creation.
Predestination; God predetermines all things.
God is not only concern with individuals or his church; God predetermines the destiny of all world history.
R. C. Sproul said it best, “The destiny of creation is not an open-ended matter of chance, for God has determined from the foundation of the world how the universe is going to end up.
It is more than just saying God has a plan, he has the power, authority and ability to work out that plan.
Part of than plan was to redeem you, so that you would play a major role in being used to carry out what he has ordained.
You belong to him
You have been chosen by him
You have been adopted by him
You have been redeemed by him
While the mysteries of God are being revealed to us; we are helping others to see the glory of God.
You belong to him
You have been chosen by him
You have been adopted by him
You have been redeemed by him
You are the vessel chosen by God to contain his glory
and express it to others for his glory.
One of the evidence of having been redeemed is a change in how we look at life.
Pessimistic; tending to see the worst; no hope of anything good happening.
Optimistic; hopeful and confident about the future.
When you know not only that history is going somewhere but you know where it is going, past, present and future it gives you an advantage.
This word here ought to create more optimism in our churches because it reminds us that our future, the future of this world and our reality is in the hands of God alone.
Your life is not in Trumps and Gods hands.
Your life is not in your employer and God’s hands.
Your life is in God’s hands alone.
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in your book
were written the days that were ordained for me, when as
yet there was not one of them.
I don’t need all the details to be optimistic.
