I. THE SOUND—v. 1

A. Joyful praise—“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.” Compare with . We must share His goodness with all people.
B. Joyful people—“All ye lands.” The Psalmist says that all those who have breath should praise the Lord ().

II. THE SERVICE—v. 2a

“Serve the Lord with gladness.”
A. Joy of salvation. He has brought us out of the pit of sin and has put a new song in our heart ().
B. Joy of knowing the Saviour—. The name of Jesus saving man from all sin!
When we serve the Lord in gladness, the Christian life will be enjoyable. It will be exciting!

III. THE SINGING—v. 2b

“Come before his presence with singing.”
A. Songs of praise. Even in prison, Paul and Silas could sing praise to God ().
B. Song of pardon—, . We are brought from the depths of sin and given a new song.
Singing to the Lord is one of the best ways of praising the Lord!

IV. THE SUPERNATURAL—v. 3a

A. Controller—“Know ye that the Lord he is God.” All things are under His control ().
B. Creator—“It is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves.” God created man (). Because of sin, God must recreate man at the time of salvation ().

V. THE SHEEP—v. 3b

A. Personal—“We are his people.” By the new birth (; .
B. Protection—“And the sheep of his pasture.” See .

VI. THE SHOWING—v. 4

A. Praise—“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise.” Compare with .
B. Worship—“Be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Compare with .

VII. THE SAMENESS—v. 5

A. The Lord is good—.
