on parenting
Complete a leadership training course,
another on hermanuetics
No doubt a great deal of helpful information is passed along
But does a plan like this teach a person to apply principles or whow to walk with God?
Change the content and any cult can do the same.... Gandhi was a remarkable man, Tony Robbins is a great mo. thomas jefferson and Confusius. But only Christianity can teach you how to walk with God!
Discipleship is all about intamacy with God… Enjoying God

Listen, it is not about serving God, Its not about learning rich theological information about God....

The point of discipleship is about Knowing God

MATTHEW 22:34-39

34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

The last couple times Stephen has taken me hunting or fishing, the subject always comeS up. Is it going to be a good day? He took me out and i shot two little bucks. What happened there? God spoke

Truth be told, you couldn’t master enough principles to see you safely through this Story. There are too many surprises, ambiguities, exceptions to the rule. Things are hard at work— is it time to make a move? What has God called you to do with your life? Things are hard at home— is this just a phase your son is going through, or should you be more concerned? You can’t seem to shake this depression— is it medical or something darker? What does the future hold for you— and how should you respond?

A personal walk with God comes to us through wisdom and revelation.

WISDOM

For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm . . . Then you will understand what is right and just and fair— every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. (; , emphasis added)
We must practice our chords

A friend of mine wanted to teach English as a second language in an Asian country as a way of becoming a sort of undercover missionary. A beautiful dream, one that I’m sure she would have been excellent in fulfilling. But she rushed to the field unprepared in many ways. I don’t mean finances and language skills; I mean in the ways of the heart. Lurking down in her soul were some deep and unresolved issues that would set her up for a fall: among them shame and guilt from an abusive past. The team she joined was totally unfamiliar with the new heart, and they doubted its goodness; as with too many Christian ministries, shame and guilt were often used as motivators. Their old covenant theology would play right into Susan’s issues, shut down her young heart. Finally, she was unpracticed in spiritual warfare, ill-equipped for what hell would throw at her. The devil is a master at shame and guilt. She went; she got hammered; she came home, defeated. Her friends wonder if she’ll ever try it again.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A STORY ABOUT A TIME WHEN THEY RUSHED INTO SOMETHING AND WAS UNPREPARED FOR WHAT LAY AHEAD?

BEING A PASTOR WAS MUCH LIKE THAT FOR ME....
Even when starting this church there were many battles that i was simply not prepared for. People that the enemy would use to hurt me.

REVELATION

Wisdom is good, but Wisdom is not enough

THE BIBLE IS full of COUNTER INTUITIVE direction from God

Building an Ark during Noahs Time was ludricous, it had never rained
Offering up your son- insanity- But God would one day do it
Slashing your military from 32,ooo to 300
All the great Bible stories that move us, and wish we could be used in such a way, well to find it wisdom is just not enough- You must hear back from God
The particular folly of the church for the last 100 years has been Reason above all else
The result has been a faith stripped of the supernatural, the Christianity of tips and techniques.

Oswald Chambers warned that the Commonsense life, can be the enemy of the Supernatural life.
ural life.
There is an old Hym
GOD SPEAKS

“What more can he say, than to you he has said?” The implication being that God has said all he has to say to us in the Bible. Period. It sounds orthodox. Except that’s not what the Bible says:

John 16:12–13 ESV
12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
John
How are you going to make it through the storms of life without hearing God’s direction. There are satanic storms that come through our life, but they are filtered through the Love of God. Yes the enemy is trying to destroy you, but God will use it to refine you.
WE ARE SHEEP, AND THE ONLY WAY FOR SHEEP IS TO LISTEN TO THE SHEPHERD

ITS ONLY BY LEARNING HOW TO WALK WITH GOD
THE HEART NEEDS TE WISDOM OF gOD AND IT NEEDS REVELATION

When Jesus was challenged by the religious leaders
i WANT TO ASK YOU A QUESTION…
1. WHO IN HERE HAS NEVER HEARD THE VOPICE OF GOD
HEARING GOD’S VOICE IS NOT A ONE TIME EVENT, IT IS A LIFE JOURNEY, CONSTANTLY LEARNING HOW TO WALK WITH GOD
We have to learn how to practice the Presence of god
HOW DOES GOD SPEAK TO US?
HE SPEAKS TO OUR SPIRITS, or the word that is more familiar to you, is your heart
We have to learn to test the spirits
If anything seems contrary to God’s Word , we m,ust test it.
If what you are hearing brings dscouragment, condemnation, accusation,
Neither is confusion
God will convict us of sin, but he wont condmen us
