Luke 1:26–38 NKJV
26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” 29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” 34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

1. Gods Plan for Mary’s life.

Luke 1:26–33 NKJV
33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
Luke 1:26 NKJV
26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,
In the six Month refers Elizabeth pregnancy.
Luke 1:27–28 (NKJV)
27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
this betrothal is much more than an engagement would be today. to end such a betrothal would require something like a divorce today.
Isaiah 55:8–9 NKJV
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
what do you do when God’s Plan for your life doesn't seem like a good plan ?

The plan unpacked

Luke 1:29–33 NKJV
29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
you shall conceive in your womb. this cuts Joseph out and shames the only family she has ever Known.
you will call his name Jesus. Jesus means the lord will save or the Lord is salvation.
he will be great (although notice that the angel doesn’t give a definition of great. )
he will be called the son of the most high.
the Lord will give Him the throne of His father David.
He will reign over the house of Jacob.
of His kingdom their will be no end.

2. nothing is impossible with God.

Mary has questions!

Luke 1:34–36 NKJV
34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.
Zacharias had questions too, but his had to do with a dream resurrected, not a reputation ruined.
God cares about his glory more than my reputation, but the angel answers her questions and testifies to the work he has already done in the life of Elizabeth.

with God NOTHING is impossible

Luke 1:37 (NKJV)
37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Daniel and the angel and this verse.

3. Mary submits to God’s will Completely!

Luke 1:38 NKJV
38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
here we see Mary's total submission to the will of God.
she knows that it will cost her EVERYTHING.
she walks into this eyes wide open
oh how i have struggled with his will so many times.
the power of the faith of the woman of God in the life of Jesus starting with his mother.
