His nature is a spirit and I thought I'd be good to follow it up with another matter about God is a doctrine of the Trinity. That's probably one of the most difficult doctrines to understand one of the church fathers said that he that would under either would reject the Trinity will lose his soul and he that would understand the Trinity will lose his mind.

The Bible doesn't systematically teach Doctrine it it does teachers about God tells us what we need to know about God and I don't think we have to get down in the weeds and get lost and all the all the Theology and but I think it's we look at the Bible. We can really get a understanding maybe not a complete understanding we can't fully comprehend God, but we can get a sufficient understanding to know who this is what I believe this is what the Bible teaches here is where I understand here is what I know to be true. I may not be able to grasp it all I might not be able to fit all these things together, but I know this is true here in in 2nd Corinthians 13:14. It speaks of the three members of the Trinity the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Love of God and the communion of the Holy Ghost the with you all the Trinity is not simply an abstract Doctrine but rather it's a life-giving truth understanding who God is not just some mental exercise something like, you know, mental algebra or calculus or something. It's in the more the better. We can know God the better we can we can enjoy him and worship him. What is the Trinity the Trinity of the word Trinity say what means three? Yes, but more than that Trinity is really an abbreviation of two words. Try Unity. It says try Unity that is three in one that's not simply three, by the way, if you talk to a Jehovah's Witness, they will really To the Trinity they all talk about this freakish three-headed God that we worship and they will mock the doctrine of the Trinity so you can understand that. There are certain things the word of God says and I believe we can very simply Define what who God is in simple terms. Now, there will be things that are mind-boggling and mind-bending. It's we try to fully grass that but we can understand the doctrine of the Trinity. And the first thing we must understand is that there is one God The Bible teaches us very clearly. There is one God a James he'll do the same thing in James chapter 2 and verse 19 James said they'll believe us that there is one God and out duelist. Well, the Devils also believe and tremble you believe there's one God you're doing well the devil even believe there is one God now, he he gets people to make other gods and believe in many gods but he knows there is one God and he trembles before that one God because he knows he faces of the Eternal judgement by that one God but it's all the scriptures very clearly teach. There is one God one that Unity can include plurality. It can be it's not a necessarily the one Includes more than one for example in Ephesians chapter 5 Paul is talking about getting married and he says this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and she'll be joined to his wife and was saying if he's in 5:30 and they too shall be one flesh there. There's two there's a difference between body and Marlene and then there are two persons. But yet they are one plus a couple and marriage there is a Unity but a reality in unity, there is one God But there is a a try Unity a plurality in the unity in the Genesis chapter 11. We have an example of that plurality in unity Genesis chapter 11 and verse 6 their God says if Humanity the Lord said behold, the people is one and they all have they have all one language and and this they begin to do nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do said the people is one you have a plurality in unity. There is one Lord is theologians discussed the Trinity and it's interesting in church history throughout the church history different times Believers were contemplating and then discussing and debating different doctrines. They they they were dealing with the doctrine of of God one of the first doctor inside out with back in the early church the doctrine of The second coming that was already dealt with it to the last couple hundred years and that's been debated more recently salvation was debated during the time of the Reformation that was and that was when it was issued was dealt with and it seem like as false Doctrine would come then then people go to the scriptures and say what what is the truth and they would have to take out the truth. And if they dealt with the the the unity of God, they said that God is one substance. No one Essence there is one God one being who is God. There's not two three substances three Essence. It's hard to find the right word to describe it. But that's all three there is but one God now, that's the first simple statement. There's one God but the second statement in it first, it seems to contradict it. There are three persons who are each called God. The father is God. Now as you read that in English, you might say well maybe it means that God bless Christ but the dog and the Greek text makes it very clear that he is over. All he is God who is overall who is blessed forever? And in the the scriptures are clear Jesus Christ is God Colossians chapter 2 and verse 9 and says her in him if I let us all the fullness of the godhead bodily. Oh and I just part of God cuz all the fullness of the godhead dwelt in Christ by the way Titus 2:13. We're looking for the Blessed hope even the Glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Again. The Greek construction makes it clear. He's a great God in our savior is one person. It's not too or looking for not looking for the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. We're looking for the great God. Who is the one who is the great God In Our Savior namely Jesus Christ. He is the great God not just a God. He is the great God and savior of us Jesus Christ. And so the Bible very clearly teachers that the sun is gone. the Bible also teaches that the holy spirit is God in Acts chapter 5 We have the story of ananias and Sapphira X5 verses 3 and 4 remember they sold some property on the island of Cyprus and and they brought an offering to the church and played at the apostles feet and said this is what we sold the property for. We're giving all of it to the church. Well Barnabas, it sold some property and give it all the church and everybody gave him recognition and they won the same recognition. Only thing was that's not what they show the property for they got more for the property than what they brought to the church and Peter and stead of putting a name on a plaque and call them migrated owner of the church and notice what he said to them and verse 3 and then I ask why has Satan Phil dinehart the light of the Holy Ghost to keep that part of the price of the land. There is one God and there are three persons in one being there is one God they are not three separate gods. They are one God one Essence one substance kind of has a physical idea on this not in the gods the spirit we saw last week, but one Essence one being that yet three persons know what I mean by a person. When when we first and sometimes I think you know how Jim here is Tim Kennedy's person if he's a person has got a body and he's a human being when we talk about persons. We normally talk about human being's Body and Soul and Spirit of God is a person is not a human being personality is not your body. Your personality is your mind your emotions or will that makes you a person and the fact that you're conscious of your existence and you have a conscious existence that you have a mind that can sync emotions in the will those are things that make you a person again they person We normally think of an individual with individual existence with a individual body, but God is a person and and the father is a person the sun is a person the holy spirit is a person if they don't I'm not independently a separately existing we have to it's hard to find a word that quite in the English language that quite matches. God is see God as hot as God as the heavens are higher than the earth. God said my I'm higher than you and my words and then and then you and then God is much greater than we are. It's hard for us to understand what we call it a try personal Bean. I say everybody I know is Yuna personal. The father is Jesus and the Holy Spirit is Right Jesus and son is Jesus and it's Jesus only and and they really have a reject a Triune God. They they say they reject that. They say Jesus only there's only one person and that person is Jesus while I was talking and it wasn't turning to Matthew chapter 3 and let me let me get to Matthew chapter 3 verses 16 and 17. And there were we read in Jesus when he was baptized went up straight way out of the water in the lower. The heavens are open to him and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting up on him and all my voice from Heaven saying this is my beloved Son in whom I am. Well pleased. All right. Now in Jesus, he came out of the water was Jesus coming out of heaven like a dog was Jesus in heaven the voice. This is my beloved Son know we see three distinct persons. Those persons are all part of the one Infinate all-powerful everywhere present Eternal God, but yet they're very distinct my emotions Wheels their distinct personality the father would speak to the sun. I Jesus pray to the father. He prayed he said I'll pray the father and he will send you another comforter. Even the spirit of Truth and John chapter 14. And so here we see three distinct persons. Remember, there's one God one thing but your father is God. He is deity. The sun is God is dated. Holy spirit is God is DT. They are one God there's a try Unity with God now I can we try to see that. We don't know any other person no try personal veins, but God is one of those persons. are equal persons and there are equal in their substance that have the same attributes and powers that are equal and they're Goreng in the text that we chose there in 2nd Corinthians 13:14 the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. It's not know the Jehovah Witnesses say grace of the lord lord Jesus. He's the first created being love of God. He's the one God the community. Holy spirit gods active force and no. No, there's not. There's any qualities there when we baptize. How do we baptize in the name of The father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit know that we baptized in the name of God and I created me and I ate active Force know that one thing. It's not the names of it's the one name the name of God who exists is three separate persons and in so whether I can roll a wrap my mind around this or not and understand how I try personal being I can function exists and I can leave the scripture of another's one God. The father is God and his son is gone. The holy spirit is God and there are free persons who are one being and we have a try personal being And who God is in his very nature. There's no difference between the members. Each one is very God of very God. Each one is fully God. Each one has the same substance the same attributes. They are the same Glory. But it is God reveals himself to us. And is God works in this world and in our Salvation we see that the persons of the Trinity will have different functions all three you were active in creation. Let's look back at the very first chapter of Genesis chapter 1

This chapter 1 and verse 1 in the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth and the Earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep in the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. I told her to God that created I believe that's the Triune God the spirit himself had a part he moved upon the face of the waters routed on that face of the waters a he was active. And is that the creation the Holy Spirit was and is in verse 28 verse 26, maybe we should just mention you get to John 1:3 all things were made by him. He didn't get that far and moving slowly through the Gospel of John.

All things were made by him by Christ and without him was not anything made that was made and and so Christ had a part in that creation. All three of them were involved in creation have to go down to Genesis 1 verse 26. This is an interesting verse. God said, let us make man in our image and after our likeness. Preacher was talking to a rabbi. This isn't a joke and some really happen fundamental preacher was talking to Rabbi have and trying to bring him to Christ and he turned to Genesis chapter 1 verse 26. It it makes sense that the father was talking to the sun in the spirit is the three were agreeing as as one to make man in their image then Genesis 1:26.

Creation of the world all three persons played apart, all three were active and involved and and agents of creation. But that is also true in Salvation and packed and we look at our Salvation. We find it that that each of the persons of the Trinity have a different role. They all have a part in our salvation, but they have different roles the the fact that the three are equal and Glory equal and Holiness equal and love equal and all their attributes equal and Glory yet is they communicate with us the three had different roles as a father. He was the one who planned creation and we all know John 3:16. Let's just say it together for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. God was the one who gave his son to father as one who play in creation sent his son to be our savior. The sun was the one who is sent the sun is the one who came the sun is the one who died for us to use the Romans road give you Romans 5:8 God commendeth his love toward us and that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. He's the one who took her place. Just God's love sent his son. He spared not his own son, but freely gave him up for us all. Hey, he didn't hold him back. He gave him for us and in Christ as I substitute died in our place of the Holy Spirit has a part and salvation to the holy spirit in playing the Salvation. He didn't die to provide it. But he applies the Salvation to us and then John chapter 16 verse 18 Jesus spoke of this other comforter and said he will convict the world of sin and righteousness and of judgment when he's come and he bring conviction to the world is so it's the Holy Spirit God the Holy Spirit who can fix us of sin who can fix the world of sin and points out their need of a savior. It's the Holy Spirit who regenerates John the third chapter is Jesus spoke to Nicodemus in verses 5 and 6 and I'll turn to John 3:5 and 6.

John 3 verse 5 Jesus answered verily verily I say unto thee except a man be born of water and of the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God that which is born of the flesh is flesh that which is born of the spirit is Spirit. Nicodemus had talked about you said you must be born again. I go back to my mother's ruin be born again. No, no, it's two kinds of birth. There's a water birth in Born of water and there's the spirit verse being born of the spirit and that which is born of the flashes flash that were just born of the spirit is spirit. It's a holy spirit that produces the new birth who gives us new life who saves us from RCN and gives you set a tree. We have the love of God so loved the world that keeps us from being Loveless and God gives us just love we have the fellowship. They're the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. The love of God God's love can help us and end in the communion of the Holy Spirit. We have fellowship with the Holy Spirit. As we commune with him this week he lives within us but he's the the helper it is in our heart is usually the one who goes with us and and and helps us as sweet as we kiss. We live the Christian Life and he is in fellowship with us and we need to grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. We need the love of God. We need the communion of the Holy Spirit as a person of the Trinity had a different responsibilities and salvation. I need to do different things for us in our Christian life now. But it doesn't mean that one is better than the other one is more glorious than the other for him. They're very being they are all perfect in their attributes. They are they are I'm on the present and I mission 10 omnipotent. They're all powerful. They're all knowing. They're everywhere present. They are each one God and they are united in one being the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. We thank God for the Triune Triune God who is our savior and for the Triune god fellowships with us and we can know how the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. We can know the love of God. We can know the communion of the Holy Spirit as we meditated upon God Adele with a Craftsman one of the most difficult theological issues and they're fully comprehend and I hope we can understand enough to send it to say I love you God.
